    • Volpe homers in win over Astros
Anthony Volpe went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Volpe hit a two-run homer off Justin Verlander in the fourth inning that traveled 354 feet and left the bat at 99.6 mph. He also had a 104.6 mph lineout and is starting to see the ball a little bit better after a long cold streak. Coming into the day, Volpe was slashing just .163/.247/.238 over his previous 20 games with just one home run and a 29 percent strikeout rate. It’s pretty clear that the torrid start to the season was just a hot streak, but Volpe still makes quality contact and has been operating as the Yankees’ leadoff hitter, which will continue to boost his fantasy value. He’ll get hot again but also expect some cold streaks mixed in as he continues to fine-tune his approach at the MLB level. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm

    • CT scan on Ryan Pepiot’s leg comes back negative
A CT scan on Ryan Pepiot’s left leg came back negative for any fractures.

Advice: Pepiot was sent for some additional imaging after taking a 107.5 mph comebacker off his left leg during Sunday’s series finale against the Mets. The positive news is that he appears to have avoided serious injury, but Rays manager Kevin Cash indicated late Tuesday that the 26-year-old righty is likely headed for the injured list. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers since Pepiot has been pitching extremely well this season in his Tampa Bay debut. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm

    • Rutschman extends hit streak to five in loss
Adley Rutschman went 1-for-4 in the Orioles’ 3-0 loss to the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: Offense was hard to come by for the Orioles in this one, as Rutschman’s hit was one of just three the Birds recorded on the evening. The real story of the night was the Nationals pitching, as starter Trevor Williams struck out eight batters over five innings while the bullpen notched four more K’s. Rutschman has now hit safely in five straight games and is 8-for-25 at the plate in the month of May. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:20 pm

    • Spencer Turnbull to pitch in relief on Tuesday night
Spencer Turnbull will pitch in relief during Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Turnbull is expected to piggyback with southpaw Cristopher Sánchez on Tuesday night when the Phillies take on the Blue Jays at Citizens Bank Park. The 31-year-old right-hander has been brilliant this season in his Philadelphia debut before Taijuan Walker’s return last week bumped him back to the bullpen. He figures to gobble up a couple frames in this contest, which will be his first appearance since last Tuesday when he allowed two runs over 5 1/3 frames against the Angels. • Not facing lefty
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Cleveland.

Advice: As customary, Carpenter will slide to the bench with southpaw Logan Allen on the mound for the Guardians. In his stead, Ryan Vilade will make his 2024 debut and handle right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:21 pm

    • Will follow Sanchez in relief
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Turnbull will pitch in relief Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Thomson wouldn't reveal exactly how Turnbull will be used, but Gelb says the right-hander will likely pitch three innings or so in what could be a piggyback situation with starter Cristopher Sanchez. Turnbull was demoted to the bullpen recently in spite of a 1.67 ERA and 36:10 K:BB in 32.1 innings this season, as the team has an eye on his workload since he hasn't thrown more than 56.2 innings in a season since 2019. • On bench against ChiSox
Rosario is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Rosario has been utilized in a near everyday role since Brandon Lowe (oblique) went down but will get the day off Tuesday. Richie Palacios will fill in at second base in place of Rosario. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:05 pm

    • Another perfect inning
Clase picked up the save Monday against Detroit, striking out one batter across a perfect ninth frame.

Advice: Clase turned in a third consecutive perfect outing, throwing merely nine pitches to earn his 11th save of 2024. The 26-year-old has been incredible thus far, boasting a 19:1 K:BB and a 0.49 ERA through 18.1 innings and is tied for the league lead in saves. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:54 pm

    • Continues to destroy baseballs
Ohtani went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and two stolen bases Monday in a 6-3 victory versus Miami.

Advice: Fresh off being named the National League's Player of the Week after posting an absurd .524/.583/.952 slash line over his previous five games, Ohtani crushed a 441-foot, two-run homer in his first at-bat Monday to open the scoring for Los Angeles. He went on to notch his third straight multi-hit game and added a pair of steals for good measure, giving him four thefts over his past four games. It took Ohtani nine games as a Dodger before he hit his first long ball, but he's since gone deep 11 times -- including four times over his past three games -- to take over the major-league lead in that category. He's also tied for second in the majors with 31 runs, tied for sixth with 27 RBI and leads all of baseball with a 1.139 OPS. In addition, Ohtani has nine stolen bases, putting him on the verge of becoming the league's first player with double-digit homers and thefts this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:52 pm
