    • Set for Tuesday return
Darvish (neck) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Reds, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Darvish successfully fired a bullpen session Wednesday and will be activated from the IL when first eligible after missing time with neck tightness. He hasn't had his best stuff through his first five outings of the 2024 campaign, posting a 4.18 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 22 punchouts over 23.2 frames. Expect the Padres to officially activate Darvish closer to first pitch. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

    • Scratched with back tightness
Perez was scratched from Monday's lineup versus the Blue Jays due to back tightness, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Perez had been slated to catch and bat cleanup, but now Freddy Fermin will be behind the plate and Nelson Velazquez will move up to the cleanup spot. Consider Perez day-to-day. Rotowire.com Today, 2:32 pm

    • Royals scratch Salvador Perez with back tightness
Salvador Perez was scratched from Monday’s lineup due to back tightness.

Advice: Perez has been off to an excellent start while leading baseball with 26 RBI and posting an OPS of .990, but he’ll miss at least one game while dealing with the back issue. He should be considered day-to-day at this point, but testing on the 33-year-old is likely. Rotoworld Today, 2:28 pm

    • Goes deep in loss
Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Cronenworth doubled his first time up and then would briefly put the Padres in front with a two-run shot to right off Taijuan Walker in the third. The 30-year-old has found his bat lately with seven hits and five RBI over his last five games. For the year, he's now slashing .264/.344/.453 with four homers, 19 RBI, 14 runs and a 12:19 BB:K in 122 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:35 am

    • Two homer day in win
Stott went 2-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI, three runs and a steal in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Stott homered in each of his first two at-bats. He opened up the scoring with a two-run blast in the second and mirrored that with another two-run shot in the fourth. He later reached on a fielder's choice in the eighth and swiped second before eventually coming around to score. Stott has found his bat as of late, tallying eight RBI over his last five games, though he still seems to be stuck on the strong side of a platoon. For the year, the 26-year-old is now slashing .226/.295/.369 with three homers, 14 RBI, 12 runs, four steals and an 8:17 BB:K in 95 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:13 am

Advice: Lynn walked at least three batters for the third time in his last four starts. However, the only run charged against him came on a solo home run by Francisco Lindor in the sixth. During his last four appearances, Lynn owns a 2.05 ERA with 17 strikeouts and 11 walks over 22.0 innings. He's lined up for a start against the White Sox on Saturday. Finnegan walked one in a scoreless ninth to pick up the save during Sunday's 12-9 victory over the Marlins. He struck out one.

Advice: Finnegan needed 21 pitches to finish the game but kept Miami off the scoreboard to match the league lead with his ninth save in 10 opportunities. He lowered his ERA to 2.19 with a 0.97 WHIP and 11 strikeouts over 12.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:55 pm

    • Shuts down Dodgers
Gausman (1-3) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and no walks across seven innings against the Dodgers. He struck out five.

Advice: The lone run against Gausman came in the sixth inning on a homer by Freddie Freeman. After allowing 12 earned runs over 7.1 innings in his first three starts, Gausman has rounded into form with just two earned runs allowed across 18.2 frames since. He'll look to keep the ball rolling during a weekend road series against the Nationals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:54 pm
