    • Shaky but victorious
Paxton (3-0) earned the win over Arizona on Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four batters over five innings.

Advice: Paxton gave up constant traffic on the basepaths and needed 96 pitches to get through just five frames, but a potent Dodgers offense gave him enough support to keep his record spotless at 3-0 for the season. Despite the veteran southpaw's clean record, he's been a volatile rotation option for Los Angeles due largely to his control issues -- Paxton has walked five or more batters on three occasions this season after doing so only five times total across his first 10 big-league campaigns. Though Paxton has thus far done what it takes to pick up wins in spite of the issue with free passes, fantasy managers may be hesitant to deploy him given his ugly 15:22 K:BB and 1.68 WHIP through 25.2 innings on the season. • Teoscar Hernández drives in two in victory
Teoscar Hernández finished 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI as the Dodgers topped the Diamondbacks 8-4 on Monday.

Advice: Hernández was the exit velocity champ tonight, hitting balls 110.8, 107.9 and 103.7 mph. His .263/.326/.466 line isn’t quite stellar, but with six homers, 22 RBI and three steals in 31 games, he’s definitely meeting expectations for fantasy purposes. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:41 pm

    • James Paxton gives up four runs in victory
James Paxton won Monday despite giving up four runs and walking five in five innings Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Paxton has been oddly wild this year, and his velocity has been down 1.5-2 mph from last season. He’s still at least a streaming option in mixed leagues anyway, but he’s not throwing as well as his 3-0 record and 3.51 ERA suggests, and he’ll almost certainly wind up on the IL at some point. • Brandon Lowe (oblique) undergoes MRI
Rays manager Kevin Cash told reporters that Brandon Lowe got “pretty good” results on the MRI on his oblique.

Advice: “We’ll just kind of take it day to day, Cash told reporters. Ok. Lowe has been out of the lineup since early in April with the strain, and it doesn’t sound like there’s a concrete timetable for when the infielder will return. Curtis Mead will continue to see the majority of time at second base while Lowe is on the shelf. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:00 pm

    • Takes care of business in ninth
Alvarado pitched a perfect ninth to pick up the save in an 8-6 win over the Padres on Sunday. He struck out two.

Advice: Alvarado punched out Eguy Rosario and Luis Campusano before sealing the deal on a line out from Jurickson Profar for his first save since April 20. Alvarado has converted all five of his save chances, though he has an inflated ERA after giving up five runs in just two-thirds of an inning in his first appearance of the season. The hard-throwing lefty owns a 5.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB in 10.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:16 am
    • Stolen base in return to lineup
Cruz went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Giants.

Advice: Cruz was held out of Saturday's lineup after tweaking his ankle in the series opener against the Giants. He notably moved up the order to hit third in his return Sunday and seemed to put the injury issue behind him as he swiped his third base of the season. Cruz is off to a slow start to the campaign, but he's shown some improvement of late by going 8-for-22 with a 25 percent strikeout rate across his last seven games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:59 pm

    • Homers in second straight
Tucker went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Tucker took advantage of the offensive environment in Mexico City, homering in each of Houston's two contests there. He now has seven home runs on the season and has at least one hit in each of his last five starts. It comes as no surprise that Tucker has remained an excellent five-category contributor, highlighted by 39 combined RBI and runs scored as well as five stolen bases across 28 contests. • Connects for third homer
Pena went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Pena had a productive weekend series in Mexico City, racking up a total of four runs scored in a pair of games. He also chipped in his third home run of the campaign Sunday, his first long ball since April 3. Pena has remained a subpar power contributor, though he also has four stolen bases and is hitting .321 across 115 plate appearances early this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:11 pm

    • Jose Alvarado slams door on Padres in ninth inning
Jose Alvarado slammed the door on the Padres in the ninth inning on Sunday, retiring all three batters that he faced to protect a two-run advantage.

Advice: Alvarado came out guns blazing in this one, striking out Eguy Rosario and Luis Campusano before getting Jurickson Profar on a line drive to right field to end it. The 28-year-old left-hander has struggled a bit to start the season — sporting a 5.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 12/7 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings, but he has converted all five of his save chances and remains the Phillies’ go-to option in the ninth inning.
