    • Pitches well versus Giants
Stroman (5-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 7.1 innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Stroman has pitched into the eighth inning in two of his last four starts, allowing just three runs over 26.2 innings in that span. During his hot stretch, he's posted a 15:7 K:BB, but that's about the only weak spot in his game right now. Stroman is at a 2.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:29 K:BB over 69.1 innings across 12 starts. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Twins. Rotowire.com Today, 10:38 pm
    • Marcus Stroman pitches into eighth in victory
Marcus Stroman gave up two runs over 7 2/3 innings to get a win Friday over the Giants.

Advice: Stroman allowed six hits with a pair of walks while striking out only two. The punchouts are not the 33-year-old’s strength, but he limits the hard contact and works deep enough into games to give fantasy managers a reason to smile more often than not. He now owns a 2.76 ERA in his first season as a New York Yankee, and he’ll have a chance to lower that solid number further against the Twins next week. Rotoworld Today, 9:57 pm
    • Gavin Lux has two hits, scores run in loss
Gavin Lux went 2-for-3 with a run scored in a loss to the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Lux scored the only run of the game for the Dodgers when Mookie Betts hit into a double play. The 26-year-old second baseman has had a few fleeting moments, but it’s been hard to justify him as a fantasy option with a slash of .213/.267/.293. Rotoworld Today, 9:37 pm

    • Better vs. Orioles
Civale didn't factor into the decision Friday against Baltimore, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Civale was sharp Friday, blanking the Orioles for five innings before he was ultimately charged with a lone run in the sixth. The 28-year-old Civale has been pitching better of late, allowing just three runs over 10.1 innings in his last two starts after struggling to an 8.48 ERA in his previous six outings. Overall, he's 2-4 on the year with a 5.37 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 60:18 K:BB across 62 innings. Civale's currently lined up for a rematch with Baltimore at home in his next start. • Yields run, earns save
Iglesias allowed a run in the ninth inning while picking up a save against Oakland on Friday.

Advice: Iglesias notched his 14th save of the year with a fascinating outing. He gave up a leadoff double to Zach Gelof before recording three outs on three consecutive pitches. Gelof would come in to score after two straight groundouts but Atlanta secured the 4-2 win. Iglesias has converted six straight save chances and owns a 2.53 ERA through 21.1 innings. • Aaron Civale allows one run in no-decision
Aaron Civale pitched 5 ⅓ innings on Friday against the Orioles and allowed one earned run. He struck out three and walked one.

Advice: Civale has simplified his approach of late. This was his seventh consecutive start throwing his cutter at least 30% of the time and the third time in four starts where he’s thrown it 40% of the time. The final results were solid here against one of the best offenses in baseball, but Civale induced just six swings and misses while the Orioles hit 10 balls hard. He remains a risky streamer until he can figure out his secondary pitches. Rotoworld Today, 7:25 pm
    • Raisel Iglesias earns 14th save against A’s
Raisel Iglesias picked up his 14th save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the A’s.

Advice: Zack Gelof doubled to start the inning and came around to score on a pair of groundouts. Fortunately, Iglesias was working with a three-run lead, so this one was never really in doubt. He’s 14-for-16 saving games this season. Rotoworld Today, 7:25 pm
    • Scheduled for BP
Manager Alex Cora said Friday that Yoshida (thumb) is expected to take batting practice Saturday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Yoshida began hitting off a tee Friday and will take his next step toward returning from a strained left thumb. A timetable for return has yet to be established, but Yoshida seems to be well on his way to reinstatement. Rotowire.com Today, 1:18 pm

    • Hitting off tee
Yoshida (thumb) began swinging off a tee Thursday, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: As noted Wednesday, manager Alex Cora said Yoshida will wear a guard on the thumb to protect the area of the injury. His return from the injured list is dependent on how Yoshida feels as he progresses. Rotowire.com Today, 5:11 am
