    • Another three-hit performance
Witt went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Witt drove home Kansas City's second run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the third before recording hits in each of his next three trips to the plate, including a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. It was the star shortstop's third multi-hit performance in his last three games and he's now tallied at least one RBI in four straight. Witt is 6-for-11 (.545) through three games to start the month of July and his .319 average on the season puts him at second in the majors behind only Steven Kwan (.367). • Let down by 'pen in dominant outing
Pivetta struck out 10 batters while allowing one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision against Miami on Thursday.

Advice: Pivetta was downright dominant Thursday, racking up 15 swinging strikes en route to his second double-digit punchout performance of the campaign. He held the Marlins hitless until Jesus Sanchez tripled against him in the seventh inning, and the right-hander departed in line for a victory with a 2-0 lead. However, Boston's bullpen eliminated Pivetta's chance for the win by giving up two runs in the bottom of the eighth. Nonetheless, the performance was an excellent bounce-back for Pivetta after he had posted a 6.98 ERA and 1.81 WHIP across his previous four starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:28 pm

    • Eugenio Suárez goes 0-for-4 against Dodgers
Even as his teammates were combining to put up nine runs, Eugenio Suárez went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Thursday against the Dodgers.

Advice: The Diamondbacks said after Geraldo Perdomo returned last month that they’d start giving Blaze Alexander time over Suárez at third base, but not only did they not to do that, they’ve since sent down Alexander, even though Suárez has done nothing to inspire any confidence. He’s at .200/.287/.319 through 327 plate appearances. He has 96 strikeouts and 91 total bases. He’s gone hitless in exactly half of his 82 starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:28 pm
    • Gavin Lux goes 0-for-4 against Diamondbacks
Gavin Lux finished 0-for-4 in the loss to the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: The Dodgers’ patience still hasn’t paid off with Lux, who is hitting just .214/.267/.291 through 251 plate appearances. His Statcast numbers aren’t as bad as the line suggests, but they’re also not as good as they were in the two years before he missed all of last season with a torn ACL. On the plus side, his defense, which seemed poised to be a major problem early on, has actually been above average after the move back to second. It makes sense for the Dodgers to try to do better, but at the same time, the more confident they feel in Miguel Rojas, the less they have the need to make a move, since they could always plug in Mookie Betts at second after he returns in August. • Struggles in Independence Day loss
Stroman (7-4) took the loss against Cincinnati on Thursday, pitching five innings and allowing five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over five innings.

Advice: Stroman struggled to keep the ball in the park Thursday -- of the five hits he allowed, three were long balls, and all five of the runs he yielded came on home runs. The right-hander hadn't been prone to the long ball coming in, as he hadn't given up a homer in three of his prior four stats. Stroman hasn't been pitching particularly well of late, though, as he has a 6.43 ERA across 21 frames covering his past four outings. The five earned runs he allowed against the Reds tied a season-high mark. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:06 pm
    • Witt Jr. a triple shy of the cycle against Rays
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Witt Jr.'s 14th of the season. He took Pete Fairbanks deep with a solo shot in the ninth inning. Witt Jr. remains one of the best hitters in fantasy this season. He’s hitting .319 with a .925 OPS and 58 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:53 pm

    • Homer, steal in win
Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, one stolen base and two total runs scored in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Rodriguez earned his first multi-hit effort and swatted his first homer in 15 games. During the slump, he went just 7-for-56 (.125) while failing to log an extra-base hit or RBI. Rodriguez's recent poor play has seen him bounce around the lineup in an effort to get his bat going -- he hit fifth Thursday but had batted seventh in the previous two games. Overall, he's slashing .247/.296/.336 with eight homers, 30 RBI, 39 runs scored and 18 steals through 88 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:42 pm

    • Aaron Civale to make Brewers debut on Friday
Aaron Civale will make his Brewers debut on Friday against the Dodgers.

Advice: It’s a tough assignment right out of the gate for Civale as he’ll take the ball for Friday’s series opener at Dodger Stadium just a few days after being dealt to Brewers from the Rays. The 29-year-old righty holds a pedestrian 5.07 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 84/27 K/BB ratio across 87 innings (17 starts) this season. His addition moves Bryse Wilson to Milwaukee’s bullpen until further notice. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:22 pm

    • Julio Rodríguez blasts first homer since June 15
Julio Rodríguez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and also stole a base on Thursday, powering the Mariners to a 7-3 victory over the Orioles.

Advice: Rodríguez connected for his first homer since June 15 when he launched a towering 428-foot blast to left field off Orioles ace Corbin Burnes in the fifth inning. It was his eighth round-tripper of the season and a much-needed sign for the 23-year-old superstar, who has been mired in a season-long tailspin at the dish. The absence of over-the-fence pop has been the most alarming trend in his sudden decline, so this performance certainly qualifies as a step in the right direction. He’s still a long way from getting back to his previous form, but there are some signs of life now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:10 pm
