    • Takes seat Wednesday
Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The White Sox are bringing a right-hander (Chris Flexen) to the mound, but he's been far more effective against lefties (.314 wOBA) than righties (.372 wOBA) for his career, which likely explains why the lefty-hitting Lowe is on the bench. After being activated from the 10-day injured list Monday, Lowe has gone 3-for-9 with a double through his first two games of the season. Rotowire.com Today, 2:21 pm

    • Slugs homer No. 10
Tucker went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-3 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: He took Luis Gil deep in the first inning, but things quickly went off the rails for the Astros after that. Tucker has gone yard in back-to-back games and has five long balls in his last nine contests, a surge that has him tied for second in the majors with 10 HR, one behind Shohei Ohtani. Tucker is slashing .279/.396/.566 through 35 games with five steals, 24 runs and 24 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 8:07 am
    • Sent to IL with forearm fracture
The Cardinals placed Contreras on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Advice: Contreras fractured his left forearm when he was struck by J.D. Martinez's bat on a catcher's interference call during Tuesday's 7-5 loss. He will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair the fracture and is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks. Ivan Herrera will be the Cardinals' primary catcher while Contreras is out, while Pedro Pages has been recalled from Triple-A Memphis to take Contreras' roster spot and serve as the team's No. 2 backstop. • Cardinals place Willson Contreras on 10-day IL
Cardinals placed Willson Contreras on the 10-day injured list with a left arm fracture.

Advice: Contreras will need more than the minimum 10 days as the 31-year-old backstop suffered a broken left forearm during Tuesday’s game against the Mets. Contreras was struck by a swing from J.D Martinez that collided with the middle of the forearm and carried through to his wrist. He’ll have to undergo surgery and is expected to miss at least six to eight weeks. In the meantime, Iván Herrera and Pedro Pagés will handle catching duties while Contreras is sidelined. • Stymies Rockies at Coors
Harrison (3-1) earned the win over the Rockies on Tuesday, tossing seven shutout innings while allowing four hits and two walks. He struck out two.

Advice: Harrison twirled another gem Tuesday night, this time in hitter-friendly Coors Field. He tossed a career-best seven scoreless frames and has now allowed just one run over his last 18 innings pitched. Harrison battled control issues in Triple-A, but seems to have shrugged off any concerns thus far. Through eight starts, Harrison has gone at least six innings and issued two or fewer walks five times. He's now down to a 3.20 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 40:12 K:BB in 45 innings and projects for a matchup at home against the Reds over the weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 7:09 am

    • Goes deep again
Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and a walk in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Nimmo got the Mets going with a three-run blast off Miles Mikolas in the fifth to knot the game up at 3-3. He's now homered in back-to-back games and has at least a hit in six straight with seven RBI over that span. For the year, the 31-year-old is hitting .229/.377/.412 with five homers, 25 RBI, 20 runs and a 25:32 BB:K in 162 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:35 am

    • Willson Contreras (forearm) to miss 6-8 weeks
Willson Contreras will miss 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery later this week on his fractured left forearm.

Advice: It’s a significant development for the Cardinals as Contreras will wind up requiring surgery to repair a fractured left forearm that he suffered during Tuesday’s game against the Mets when he was struck by a swing from J.D. Martinez. The 31-year-old backstop should be ready to return sometime around the All-Star break, barring any setbacks. It’ll be Iván Herrera and Pedro Pagés handling the catching duties in his absence. Rotoworld Today, 3:05 am

    • Lasts seven innings in no-decision
Imanaga didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against San Diego, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Imanaga allowed more than five hits for the first time this season and tied his season-high earned-run total, but it was hardly a disappointing start for the rookie, who's arguably been the best starter in baseball. He blanked the Padres through seven innings but allowed an infield single to Luis Arraez and a home run to Jurickson Profar in the eighth before being pulled. Imanaga has fanned seven or more batters in three straight starts, and the Cubs are 7-0 overall in his starts. The lefty is tentatively scheduled to make his next start Tuesday in Atlanta. • Excellent against Cincinnati
Gallen (4-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Reds, allowing one hit and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Gallen had gone 11 days between starts after suffering a hamstring injury on April 26 against Seattle. He certainly looked healthy Tuesday, holding Cincinnati to one hit en route to his third scoreless outing this season. It's an encouraging effort from Gallen, who'd dropped his previous two starts, allowing eight runs over 10 innings in that span. He lowered his ERA to 2.84 with a 1.13 WHIP and 41:12 K:BB across seven starts (38 innings) this year. Gallen's currently in line for a road start Sunday against the Orioles in his next outing.
