    • Carlos Estévez perfect in earning sixth save
Carlos Estévez worked a perfect ninth against the Pirates for his sixth save Wednesday.

Advice: Estévez had given up six runs in his previous five appearances, but he had an easy time today, striking out two of the three batters he faced. This was his second straight day pitching, so he’ll probably need Thursday off. That could create a save chance for Luis García. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago
    • Sitting in early game Wednesday
Smith is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Athletics.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Smith will hit the bench for the first game of the twin bill while the Athletics bring southpaw JP Sears to the hill. Davis Wendzel will fill in for Smith at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 11:22 am

    • Registers first steal
Rutschman went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Rutschman had one of the Orioles' three hits in Tuesday's loss. He's gone 8-for-25 (.320) with four extra-base hits and four RBI over six games in May. Rutschman's steal was his first of the year -- speed is the one tool that doesn't show up much in his game. He's still putting together another excellent season with a .322/.359/.469 slash line, five home runs, 22 RBI and 20 runs scored over 34 contests, even with a walk rate at a career-low 5.3 percent. • Brewers activate Christian Yelich from 10-day IL
Brewers activated Christian Yelich (back) from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Yelich is back in the lineup for the Brewers on Wednesday after he was sidelined for the last three weeks. The 32-year-old outfielder is off to a good start this season slashing .333/.422/.744 with five home runs and 11 RBI in his first 11 games. Rotoworld Today, 9:44 am

    • Activated, starting Wednesday
The Brewers reinstated Yelich (back) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday. He'll serve as the Brewers' designated hitter and will bat third in the team's series finale in Kansas City.

Advice: Milwaukee optioned infielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Yelich, who had been on the shelf since April 16 with a lower-back strain. Despite missing well beyond the minimum 10 days, Yelich will return to the lineup without having gone on a minor-league rehab assignment, as the Brewers were encouraged enough with how his back responded to baseball activities over the past few days to activate him. He'll be eased back into action in a non-defensive role, and Yelich could end up seeing more work at DH over the next week or two before gradually settling into his usual spot in left field. • Not in Wednesday's lineup
Donovan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: With left-hander Jose Quintana toeing the slab for the Mets, the Cardinals have elected to give the left-handed-hitting Donovan a breather. Lars Nootbaar will fill in for Donovan in left field. Rotowire.com Today, 8:19 am

    • Slugs sixth homer
Arozarena went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder went yard for the third time in the last five games, and while he has only four hits over that stretch, all four have gone for extra bases. Arozarena still isn't quite locked in at the plate -- he hasn't put together a multi-hit performance since March 30 -- but he appears close to breaking out. A hot streak is long overdue, as he sports a .152/.253/.311 slash line through 36 contests with six homers, six steals, 13 RBI and 16 runs. Rotowire.com Today, 7:52 am
    • Goes yard in Tuesday's loss
Donovan went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Mets.

Advice: A day after being taken out of the leadoff spot, Donovan led off Tuesday's game with a solo home run off Jose Butto for his fourth homer of the year and second career leadoff blast. He now has at least a hit in four straight games with three of those hits going for extra bases. The 27-year-old owns a .223 batting average, though that comes with an unlucky .233 BABIP. For the year, Donovan is slashing .223/.297/.381 with 13 extra-base hits, 19 RBI, 15 runs and an 11:22 BB:K in 158 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:12 am

    • Stott has two hits, steal in win
Bryson Stott went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Advice: Stott picked up two singles to up his triple slash to .245/.339/.377 on the year and also swiped his eighth stolen base. Stott has moved around between second base and shortstop since Trea Turner went down with a hamstring injury, and it’s hard to imagine Stott getting many days off over the next six weeks while Turner is out. The power hasn’t been there this year, but the steals are valuable and Stott should get the opportunity to pick up important counting stats while hitting in a good lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:47 pm
