      Neris worked around a hit to pitch a scoreless ninth inning and record the save in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Mets.

      Advice: Shota Imanaga dominated the Mets across seven innings, and then Neris shut things down to secure his fifth save of the season. The veteran righty has pitched well since taking over closing duties from Adbert Alzolay, as Neris has allowed just one earned run over his last five appearances, lowering his season ERA to 3.27.       Héctor Neris worked a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Mets on Wednesday.

      Advice: Neris was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a one-run lead. He recorded one out, then hit a batter and gave up a double to put the tying run on third and the go-ahead run in scoring position.       Lindor was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cubs after exhibiting flu-like symptoms, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Lindor was feeling sick ahead of the third inning and was replaced at shortstop by Joey Wendle, who could be in line to start Thursday's series finale if Lindor isn't feeling better by then.       Kyle Schwarber smacked a two-run single on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the Angels.

      Advice: Schwarber’s second-inning two-run single off Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval represented Philadelphia’s only offensive production of a low-scoring contest out in Los Angeles.       Nolan Gorman went 0-for-3 in the loss to the Tigers on Wednesday, dropping his average to .190.

      Advice: Statcast thinks Gorman has been fairly unlucky, but his strikeout rate remains terrible and he’s not hitting the ball hard as consistently as he did last year.     • Jackson Holliday resumes mashing at Triple-A
      Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 3-for-6 with an RBI on Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk.

      Advice: Holliday flopped in his first taste of the big leagues as Baltimore continued to challenge him from a development standpoint. However, that shouldn’t diminish fantasy managers’ long-term optimism. The latest multi-hit effort raises his Triple-A slash line to .321/.451/.554 with nine extra-base hits and one steal through 13 contests. He’ll get some extended time in the minors to continue ironing out contact issues and struggles against left-handed pitching, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets another shot in Baltimore.     • Collects five hits in twin bill
      Goldschmidt went 5-for-9 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's doubleheader split versus the Tigers.

      Advice: Goldschmidt had not collected five hits over any two-game span this season prior to Tuesday. Even with the strong performance, the first baseman is slashing a mediocre .236/.323/.318 with two home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored, three doubles and a stolen base over 29 contests. Goldschmidt has yet to lose playing time amid his slow start, but that could change once the Cardinals get players like Dylan Carlson (shoulder), Tommy Edman (wrist) and Matt Carpenter (oblique) back from the injured list.       Cortes (1-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Orioles, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Three of Baltimore's four runs off Cortes came in the fourth inning, as the 29-year-old left-hander took a second straight loss. Cortes had gone seven innings in each of his previous two outings, allowing just three runs while striking out 13 in that span. His ERA now sits at 3.86 with a 1.10 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB across seven starts (42 innings). Cortes is currently scheduled to face the Tigers at home in his next start.       Bo Bichette went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in a loss to the Royals on Tuesday.

      Advice: Bichette continues to make an elite amount of contact but also swing at pitches that he can’t really do much damage on. As a result, he has a .213 average and just a .306 slugging percentage on the season. The RBI was his 11th of the year, and while the 26-year-old could likely use a more selective approach at the plate, he’s too talented to take out of your lineup right now.
