      Suarez (hand) is in line to start Saturday versus the Phillies in London after playing catch again Wednesday, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Suarez had been slated to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, but instead he played catch for the second straight day. The change of plans does not appear to have altered anything for this weekend, as the southpaw remains on track to make his next scheduled start.       Gil (8-1) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one hit and three walks over six scoreless innings in a 5-1 victory over the Twins. He struck out six.

      Advice: The 26-year-old didn't miss a beat after being named the American League Rookie and Pitcher of the Month for May. Gil extended his quality-start streak to seven with the performance, and he's won all seven of those outings with an eye-popping 0.60 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB through 44.2 innings.       Lugo came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Guardians, coughing up five runs on six hits and a walk over six-plus innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Kansas City staked the veteran right-hander to a 5-0 lead, but homers by Josh Naylor in the bottom of the fourth inning and Tyler Freeman in the seventh fueled a Cleveland comeback. Lugo tossed 64 of 98 pitches for strikes before exiting, as he lasted at least six innings for the seventh time in his last eight trips to the mound, a stretch in which he sports a 2.19 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB through 53.1 innings.       Luis Gil recorded six strikeouts over six shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Twins.

      Advice: The breakout sensation of the 2024 campaign so far, Gil kept rolling on Tuesday evening at Yankee Stadium, scattering one hit and three walks over six nearly-flawless frames against a talented Minnesota lineup. He’s emerged as an early AL Cy Young Award contender this season, allowing one earned run or fewer in seven consecutive starts since May 1. The 26-year-old righty won’t be able to sustain these sublime results long-term, but he’s rapidly evolved into a legitimate upper-echelon fantasy contributor, thanks to his ability to consistently miss bats and avoid hard contact.     • Seth Lugo wears down late against Guardians
      Seth Lugo allowed five runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Guardians.

      Advice: Lugo started the game with three scoreless innings before allowing three runs in the fourth. However, he settled down and threw two more scoreless innings but the Royals brought him back out for the seventh where he allowed a single and a two-run home runs before being pulled from the game. Lugo posted a 27 percent CSW on the night and induced eight whiffs on 46 swings. He doesn’t miss many bats, but he has been tremendous this season with a 2.16 ERA.       Ranger Suárez (thumb) played catch on Tuesday without any issues or limitations.

      Advice: Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters Suárez is slated to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday and is trending towards taking the ball this weekend in London against the Mets. The 28-year-old southpaw is reportedly feeling much better of late after being hit by a comebacker last Saturday against the Cardinals.       Nationals placed RHP Trevor Williams on the 15-day injured list with a right elbow flexor strain.

      Advice: Williams will be out for at least two weeks with the injury, but there’s no timetable for his return yet as the injury occurred sometime after his start against Atlanta on Thursday. Washington has recalled DJ Herz to make the start against the Mets on Tuesday in Williams’ place. There should be further updates on the 32-year-old’s status in the coming days.
