    • Winn has two-hit game Thursday
Masyn Winn went 2-for-5 against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: It was a quiet night for the Cardinals offense, but Winn returned from a back injury and added another two hits out of the leadoff spot. His average is up to .311 with an .804 OPS on the season. In his last 25 games, Winn is 32-for-89 (.359) with three home runs and three stolen bases. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:53 pm

    • Masyn Winn returns to lineup Thursday vs. Rockies
Masyn Winn (back) is in the lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Rockies.

Advice: Winn took a seat for Wednesday’s game against the Astros to address a lingering back issue, so it’s a positive development that he’s ready to roll for Thursday’s series opener against the Rockies at Busch Stadium. The 22-year-old shortstop has been excellent this season, taking a major step forward at the dish, batting .309 with three homers and eight steals across 197 plate appearances over 54 games. • Returns to lineup Thursday
Winn (back) will play shortstop and bat leadoff in Thursday's game versus the Rockies.

Advice: Winn was absent from the Cardinals' lineup Wednesday in Houston as he battles a nagging back issue. It's something he's been managing off and on all season but hasn't seemed to affect him lately, as the rookie shortstop is slashing .370/.400/.575 over his last 20 contests. • Managing back issue
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said that Winn is absent from Wednesday's lineup in Houston due to a lingering back issue, Bally Sports Midwest reports.

Advice: Winn has required some extra days off this season because of a back problem that dates back to spring training. He had to be checked on by the trainer during Monday's game versus the Astros when the injury flared up during an at-bat, but Winn remained in that contest and also played Tuesday, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a walk and a stolen base. While the injury does not seem to be affecting Winn's performance, the club wants to be proactive with rest. Brandon Crawford is occupying shortstop Wednesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:01 am

    • Masyn Winn sits for second time in a week
Masyn Winn is being rested for the second time in a week Wednesday against the Astros.

Advice: Unless there’s something going on here that the Cardinals aren’t disclosing, it’s weird that the team has decided the 22-year-old shortstop needs three days off out of the last seven (the team didn’t play last Thursday). Winn went 3-for-3 with a homer last night, pushing him up to .309/.359/.446, and his backup, Brandon Crawford, doesn’t seem to have much to offer at this point. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:44 am

    • Taking seat Wednesday
Winn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Houston.

Advice: Winn had a big night in Tuesday's loss to the Astros, reaching base four times while hitting a home run and stealing a base. He will receive some rest during Wednesday's matinee, with Brandon Crawford getting a start at shortstop. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:38 am

    • Fills stat sheet in loss
Winn went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and one stolen base in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Winn was 2-for-13 over his previous four games before breaking out of that short slump with a big performance. The shortstop has arguably been the Cardinals' most consistent hitter with a .309/.359/.446 slash line over 197 plate appearances this year. He's added three homers, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight steals. The Cardinals' offense has been inconsistent at best, which has limited Winn's production of counting stats, but his ability to make quality contact has made him fantasy relevant in most formats, especially since he's seen a near-everyday role at shortstop. • Masyn Winn homers in three-hit night vs. Astros
Masyn Winn went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

Advice: Winn hit his third homer of the season on Tuesday against the Astros when he took reliever Parker Mushinski deep on a 381-foot shot to left-center field. Winn has hit safely in three-straight games and is now slashing .333/.389/.533 in the month of June through four games. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:43 pm

    • Winn records RBI in loss Saturday
Masyn Winn went 0-for-3 with an RBI against the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: It was a quiet night for the Cardinals as they could only muster one run. Winn’s hitless night ended a streak of 18 consecutive starts where he’d recorded a hit. While Brendan Donovan was out of the lineup, it’s notable that Winn moved up to the leadoff spot against Phillies left-handed starter Ranger Suarez. Rotoworld Jun 1, 7:20 pm
