    • Punches out seven
Gore (2-3) was hit with the loss Tuesday versus Texas after giving up two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven batters across five innings.

Advice: Gore managed to keep the Rangers off the scoreboard for the first three innings, but an RBI single from Jonah Heim in the fourth followed by a fielder's choice in the fifth was all it took for Texas to take the lead over Washington and hand Gore his third consecutive loss. Despite his record, the 25-year-old lefty still owns a 3.19 ERA and 1.35 WHIP on the year and has struck out at least six batters in four of his six starts. He's projected to start on the mound again Sunday against Toronto. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago
    • Secures first win
Gray (1-1) earned the win Tuesday against Washington after allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out three batters across eight innings.

Advice: Gray gave up an RBI single to Luis Garcia in the first inning to put the Rangers behind early, but that would end up being the only blemish on his record. His three strikeouts weren't consistent with the rates fantasy managers have come to expect out of the 32-year-old righty, but he still managed to completely shut down the Nationals' bats nonetheless. Ever since being lit up for five runs in 3.2 innings during his season debut in March, Gray has posted a 1.24 ERA alongside a 33:8 K:BB across 29 innings. He'll look to extend his hot streak during his next start -- tentatively scheduled to come in Kansas City on Sunday. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago
    • Hit with first loss
Alexander (1-1) took the loss Tuesday against Milwaukee after allowing three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three batters across four innings.

Advice: Alexander was unable to keep the Brewers off the basepaths Tuesday, allowing three runs to score in the first two innings. He managed to keep Milwaukee from scoring over the next two frames but had to be pulled after needing 85 pitches to complete four innings, tying his shortest outing of the season. The 29-year-old southpaw owns a 5.02 ERA and 1.40 WHIP this season, though he'll have a good chance to bounce back during his next scheduled start Monday against the White Sox. • Strikes out seven before ejection
Peralta (3-0) earned the win Tuesday against Tampa Bay, allowing two earned runs on one hit while striking out seven batters across 5.1 innings.

Advice: Peralta was fantastic again Tuesday, needing just 66 pitches to get through 5.1 innings while only allowing one hit -- a Jose Siri home run. The 27-year-old pitcher wasn't showing any signs of slowing down on the mound, but his start came to an abrupt and controversial end when he hit Siri with a pitch in the sixth inning. The umpires deemed the HBP an intentional act, leading to Peralta's ejection from the game. Despite being tossed, Tuesday's outing was a strong bounce-back performance from his five-run showing Thursday against Pittsburgh. He has now struck out 45 batters in 33.2 innings this year and will carry a 3.21 ERA and 0.86 WHIP into his next start -- currently projected for Monday in Kansas City. Rotowire.com Today, 1:55 am
    • Fans three in no-decision
Soroka allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three batters across 4.1 innings during Tuesday's 6-5 loss to Minnesota. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Soroka pitched extremely well to begin the game, not allowing a runner to reach base until the fourth inning. However, things fell apart in the fifth when Willi Castro lined an RBI triple to left field followed by an RBI double from Kyle Farmer, at which point Soroka was relieved with the game tied at 2-2. The 26-year-old right-hander still sports a gaudy 6.48 ERA and 1.62 WHIP through seven starts, though he's allowed four earned runs across 9.1 frames over his last two outings. Still, he remains a poor fantasy option heading into his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Cardinals. Rotowire.com Today, 1:54 am
    • Collects save in season debut
Duran gave up one hit and struck out a batter during a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the White Sox.

Advice: In his first appearance since being reinstated from the injured list, Duran picked up right where he left off last season. He allowed a leadoff single to Tommy Pham before retiring the next three batters, ending the game with a four-pitch strikeout of Andrew Vaughn. It wasn't clear heading into Tuesday's game whether or not Duran would immediately slide back into the closer role after missing the first month of the season, but it appears manager Rocco Baldelli will trust the 26-year-old righty to work the ninth inning going forward. • Gives up seven hits
Woods Richardson came away with a no-decision Tuesday against the White Sox, giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out two batters across 3.2 innings.

Advice: Woods Richardson was fortunate to only surrender two runs Tuesday after allowing nine men to reach base in less than four innings, but an Eloy Jimenez RBI single and a fielding error from Carlos Santana still put the Twins in a 2-0 hole to begin the game. Woods Richardson now carries a 2.45 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 14.2 innings through three starts, and he will likely get a chance to improve upon his shortest outing of the season Monday against the Mariners. • Reaches six innings
Skenes allowed four hits and one walk while striking out seven across six scoreless innings Tuesday in an appearance with Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Skenes continued his impressive run with Indianapolis, as he now has a total of 41 strikeouts across 23 innings pitched while maintaining a 0.39 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. Most importantly, he reached five innings in an outing for the first time in a start this season and tossed 75 pitches. The Pirates still haven't announced plans to promote Skenes to Pittsburgh, but he should be up in relatively short order. Rotowire.com Today, 12:22 am
    • Expected back by mid-May
Poche (back) is not expected to spend much more than a minimum stint on the injured list, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Poche received an injection in his back shortly after landing on the injured list Friday. He's rested since, but will presumably resume throwing in short order. If Poche is able to return before Pete Fairbanks (arm), he could factor into the saves picture in Tampa Bay. Rotowire.com Today, 12:06 am
