    Advice: De La Cruz's only hit in this game was a big one, he tied the score up with a three-run blast off JoJo Romero in the eighth. The 27-year-old is already up to 12 homers a year after totaling 19 in 153 games. His power numbers make him a valuable player, despite his low OBP and high strikeout totals.   • Greg Jones hits first MLB home run
    Greg Jones hit his first major league homer as a pinch-hitter Monday against the Dodgers.

    Advice: Jones, a longtime Rays prospect, took fellow former Rays pitcher JP Feyereisen deep tonight. It’s Jones’ first hit in five at-bats since his callup 11 days ago. The Rockies, who are suffering for their utter inability to manage a 40-man roster, have given Jones just one start since calling him up from Triple-A.     Chisholm went 2-for-2 with a triple, RBI, run scored, and three walks in Monday's 7-6 loss to the Cardinals.

    Advice: Chisholm drove in the Marlins first run with a two-out triple off Sonny Gray in the sixth. The Cardinals couldn't retire Chisholm in any of his five at-bats, he drew three walks in a game for just the second time in his career. The centerfielder also managed to extend a modest six-game hitting streak.     Nimmo went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Rangers.

    Advice: Nimmo knocked RBI singles in the second and fifth innings but most of his damage came in the fourth inning when he ripped a two-run homer. It was his second straight three-hit game and fourth consecutive appearance with multiple hits. That hot streak has bumped Nimmo's OPS from .708 to .756.     Heliot Ramos went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in the Giants’ 7-6 victory over the Cubs on Monday.

    Ian Happ went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run against the Giants on Monday.

    Advice: Happ’s home run was his eighth of the season. The three-run blast gave the Cubs a 6-3 lead in the seventh inning. It was Happ’s second home run in his last three games and third consecutive game with at least two hits. Happ’s wRC+ on the season is up to 115, which is the same as his career wRC+.     Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a home run and four RBI against the Rangers on Monday.



    Advice: Nimmo is now 10-for-17 (.588) with six runs scored and seven RBI over his last four games. His average is up to .240 with a .756 OPS and 39 RBI on the season. It’s been a down season for Nimmo, a career .266 hitter, but he seems to be turning it around at the plate lately.

    Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-2 with an RBI on Monday in the Marlins’ extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.

    Advice: Chisholm walked three times in the extra-inning marathon, reaching base safely in all five of his plate appearances, but it wasn’t enough as Miami lost for the eighth time in their last 10 games since June 7. He also delivered a game-tying RBI triple against Cardinals starter Sonny Gray in the sixth inning.     Advice: O'Neill hit two of Boston's four home runs Monday for his first multi-homer game since April 5. He's up to 14 long balls this season but just six of those have come since the start of May. The slugging outfielder is slashing .258/.354/.534 with 25 RBI through 206 plate appearances.
