  • Brent Rooker hits three-run homer in loss
    Brent Rooker went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run on Sunday in a loss to the Royals.

    Advice: Rooker’s homer was his 11th of the season and he scalded this one at 111.7 MPH off the bat. There’s still a lot of swing and miss in his game, but a barrel rate right around 15% and hitting third in the surging A’s lineup has turned him into one of the best run producers in the league early this season.     Advice: Carter has been available off the bench for the last two games against Los Angeles, but he will return to left field for the first time since May 8 as Texas finishes out its series.     Guardians general manager Chris Antonetti told reporters Sunday that the hope is that Steven Kwan (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment in the next 7-10 days.

    Advice: Kwan was able to take batting practice Friday and has reportedly made steady progress from the hamstring strain that has sidelined him since the middle of May. Manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that the outfielder would be available off the bench versus Los Angeles and Carter did end up appearing in the game, going 0-for-1. Carter will look to return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale, but in the meantime, Robbie Grossman will draw the start in left field and bat sixth Saturday.
