  • Jose Miranda goes 5-for-5 to lead Twins
    Jose Miranda finished 5-for-5 with three doubles and four runs scored Thursday as the Twins topped the Tigers 12-3 in a rain-shortened game.

    Advice: The contest was delayed in the bottom of the seventh and eventually called. Miranda has hit in eight straight games, raising his average to .312. Over the last 30 days, he’s hitting a robust .379/.434/.586 with as many extra-base hits as strikeouts (13).     Ryan Jeffers went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI against the Tigers on Thursday.

    Advice: He was also hit by a pitch in the seventh on what proved to be the last play in a rain-shortened game. Jeffers had a great first month and a half, followed by a bad second month and a half; he came into this one batting .157/.252/.269 since May 15.     Davis (concussion) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

    Advice: Davis was pulled off a rehab assignment with Double-A Altoona this past weekend after he experienced recurring concussion symptoms. However, he's evidently passed the necessary protocols and will resume things in Indianapolis. The veteran offseason addition, who snapped a brief 0-for-9 skid with his timely knock, could find himself back in the lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Orioles, although manager Scott Servais said before Wednesday's game that Garver wasn't fully pain-free yet, per MLB.com.
