• Out against left-hander
Lowe is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: With southpaw Mitchell Parker on the hill for the Nationals, the left-handed hitting Lowe will begin this one on the bench. Jonny DeLuca will occupy right field. Rotowire.com 2 minutes ago

  • Held out again Friday
Lowe (toe) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Lowe hasn't played since suffering a fractured right pinky toe on June 22. The Rays are facing a lefty in Mitchell Parker on Friday, so Lowe might not have been in the lineup, anyway. If he remains out Saturday against righty Jake Irvin, a stint on the injured list surely will have to be considered. Jose Caballero is at second base Friday. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

  • Out against lefty
Rortvedt is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Washington, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Rortvedt will retreat to the bench as the Rays take on southpaw Zach Eflin. Alex Jackson will take over catching duties and bat ninth. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
  • Brandon Lowe on bench again Friday
Brandon Lowe (toe) isn’t starting for Friday’s game against the Nationals.

Advice: Lowe hasn’t played since June 22nd after breaking his pinkie toe. He also battled an illness earlier this week. Tampa Bay is also facing a left-hander starter in Mitchell Parker. The Rays haven’t put Lowe on the IL yet so hopefully he can return to the lineup soon. Jose Caballero will get the start at second base and bat seventh on Friday. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

  • Will swing bat Friday
Jung (wrist) will attempt to swing a bat Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung's return has been delayed due to inflammation in his surgically repaired right wrist, but he's ready to test things out swinging a bat after resting for a week and receiving a cortisone shot. The third baseman could be activated soon if things go well in the cage Friday, but when Jung does return he could be eased back into action, playing every other day or receiving one off day per series, according to Grant. Jung has been sidelined since early April. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Bryce Harper goes on IL with mild hamstring strain
Phillies placed 1B Bryce Harper on the 10-day IL with a left hamstring strain.

Advice: The Phillies are calling it a low-grade strain, so Harper could be ready to go as soon as his 10 days are up. Kody Clemens will fill in at first base against righties. The Phillies will probably shift Alec Bohm to first and play Edmundo Sosa at third versus lefties. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Idle against RHP
Dahl is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Miami.

Advice: Dahl had been on the bench in two of the Phillies' previous three games, though each came against a left-handed pitcher. On Friday, righty Kyle Tyler will toe the rubber for Miami, but the lefty-hitting Dahl won't crack the starting nine. Whit Merrifield, Johan Rojas and Brandon Marsh fill the outfield from left to right. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

  • Kyle Schwarber goes on 10-day IL with groin strain
Phillies placed DH Kyle Schwarber on the 10-day IL with a left groin strain.

Advice: With Schwarber out, the Phillies have Bryson Stott leading off and Nick Castellanos DHing tonight. Whit Merrifield is playing left field, with Brandon Marsh suffered to right. It could be a common arrangement until Schwarber gets back. The Phillies are hoping he’ll miss the minimum 10 days, though they could always be cautious and hold him out through the break. • Returns to big leagues
The Phillies recalled Rojas from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Advice: Rojas did go 13-for-34 at the plate with Lehigh Valley following a demotion earlier this month, but his quick return to the majors is seemingly more based on need with Bryce Harper (hamstring) and Kyle Schwarber (groin) going down. He could see some starts in center field as the Phillies deal with the absence of two of their sluggers. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago
