• Orioles recall LHP Matt Krook
Orioles recalled LHP Matt Krook from Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: If he pitches, Krook will be making his Orioles debut, and hopefully he’ll get to lower his 24.75 career ERA that he accrued in four appearances with the Yankees last year. He had a 3.71 ERA and a 31/17 K/BB in 26 2/3 innings for Norfolk. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

  • Summoned from Triple-A
The Orioles recalled Krook from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Advice: Krook will supply some short-term depth for the Orioles' bullpen with Corbin Burnes hitting the paternity list. Krook hasn't appeared in an MLB game this season and owns a 3.71 ERA across 26.2 innings with Norfolk in 2024. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

  • Nabil Crismatt returns to Padres organization
Padres signed Nabil Crismatt to a minor league contract.

Advice: Crismatt had a 3.39 ERA in 148 2/3 innings out of the pen for the Padres between 2021 and ’22 before losing some velocity and his job last year. His velocity is back to normal now, though he’s still mostly throwing 89-92 mph, and he allowed two runs in seven innings for the Dodgers earlier this season. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago
  • Report: Red Sox to call up LHP Bailey Horn
The Red Sox are calling up lefty Bailey Horn from Triple-A.

Advice: It’ll be the major league debut for Horn, who was claimed off waivers from the White Sox at the end of April. He has a 1.69 ERA in 16 innings since joining Worcester. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

  • Earns second win
Long (2-1) walked one and struck out four over 1.2 scoreless and hitless innings to earn the win Thursday over the Guardians.

Advice: Long worked in the sixth and seventh innings after a strong start from Michael Wacha. The Royals pulled ahead 2-1 in the sixth inning, and Long did his part to keep the score there. The southpaw has been scored on in just three of his 14 appearances this season, pitching to a 1.98 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB over 13.2 innings in a low-leverage role. The Royals' bullpen has been a weak spot this year, so it's possible Long could find himself in a more prominent role if he continues to have success. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago

  • Takes extra-inning loss
Jackson (4-2) allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit, taking the extra-inning loss Thursday versus the Cubs.

Advice: Just one day after picking up a win in a middle-relief appearance, Jackson was on the hook for the loss. He gave up a two-run home run to Ian Happ in the 10th inning, and the Giants were unable to respond. Aside from Wednesday's sharp outing, Jackson has been rough lately, allowing seven runs (six earned) over his last 3.2 inning. He has a 6.23 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 20:14 K:BB through 26 innings overall. • Back to San Diego on MiLB deal
The Padres signed Crismatt to a minor-league contract Friday, Annie Heilbrunn of 97.3 The Fan reports.

Advice: Crismatt most recently had been with Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers organization before being released earlier this week. The 29-year-old got into five games earlier this season with the Dodgers, allowing three runs (two earned) with a 6:0 K:BB in seven frames. Crismatt made 102 appearances with the Padres from 2021-23 and fared pretty well, holding a 3.83 ERA and 145:53 K:BB across 159.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 10:12 am
  • Joining Boston bullpen
The Red Sox recalled Horn from Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: Horn was acquired via trade from the White Sox back in April and has posted a 1.69 ERA and 19:9 K:BB over 16 frames during his time at Worcester. The left-handed reliever will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game. Rotowire.com Today, 10:06 am

  • Picks up another start
Tyler is slated to start Friday's game in Philadelphia.

Advice: He'll receive a second straight turn through the Miami rotation after he took a no-decision his last time out Sunday against the Mariners, covering four innings and striking out two while giving up two runs on three hits and three walks. With injuries hitting the Miami pitching staff hard at the moment, Tyler could be in store for additional starts beyond Friday, even if he continues to underwhelm. Rotowire.com Today, 8:57 am
