• Quality start in no-decision
Freeland came away with a no-decision Sunday against the White Sox, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and two walks in 6.2 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Freeland made his second start since coming off the 60-day injured list, throwing 80 pitches Sunday after throwing 69 his last time out. The 31-year-old has been sharp since returning despite the reduced workload, notching quality starts in both appearances en route to a 1.42 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP across 12.2 innings. The southpaw should be close to a full workload his next time out, tentatively scheduled for next weekend against the Royals. Rotowire.com Today, 2:55 pm

  • Casey Mize leaves game in sixth with leg problem
Casey Mize left Sunday’s game in the sixth inning with an apparent left leg injury.

Advice: Mize grabbed at his hamstring a little bit after trying to chase down a foul popup. He is in line for his second win after leaving with a 7-0 lead and one out in the sixth against the Angels. Alex Faedo replaced him. Rotoworld Today, 2:53 pm

  • Fans 11 in no-decision
Crochet came away with a no-decision Sunday against the Rockies, allowing two earned runs on five hits and zero walks while striking out 11 over seven innings.

Advice: Crochet's workload was a major question entering this one -- reports earlier this week stated his workload was "going to start dwindling". The 25-year-old threw 88 pitches and made it through seven-plus innings for the third time this season, temporarily quieting the concerns. The White Sox will be cautious with Crochet ahead of the trade deadline, but he remains a must-start as long as he is active. The southpaw owns a 3.02 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and a league-leading 141 strikeouts over 101.1 innings this season. He is tentatively scheduled for a road start in Miami next weekend. • Struggles in defeat
Allen (8-4) took the loss Sunday against the Royals, allowing three earned runs on six hits and zero walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Allen never found his footing in this one, surrendering runs in the first two frames before exiting in the fifth inning. This comes off the back of a brutal outing where he allowed three home runs and was pulled after just three innings. The 25-year-old has been an adequate source of wins thanks to the Cleveland offense, but he sports an ugly 5.75 ERA, a 1.54 WHIP and a 67:31 K:BB across 83 innings this season. The southpaw will look to bounce back in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend against the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 2:48 pm

  • Resumes throwing
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Sunday that Verlander (neck) resumed playing catch from 60 feet Sunday and "felt good," Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 41-year-old's return to throwing is an encouraging development after he was shut down for a bit while recovering from neck soreness. Given the shutdown period, Verlander shouldn't be expected to return from the injured list when first eligible this week. Rotowire.com Today, 2:41 pm
  • Freeland allows two runs in no-decision Sunday
Kyle Freeland allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Rockies’ 5-4 victory over the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: Freeland gave up six hits, walked two and struck out three. He had a 13.21 ERA in four starts in April, but Freeland has been good in both of his June starts since returning from the injured list. Still, he isn’t a strikeout pitcher and it’s tough to win games on the Rockies so there isn’t much upside. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Royals at home next weekend.

  • Crochet records 11 strikeouts in no-decision
Garrett Crochet allowed two runs in seven innings and got a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday.

Advice: Crochet gave up five hits, walked none and struck out 11. He was excellent once again. Both runs Crochet allowed came in the second inning when the Rockies scored on a balk and a sacrifice fly. Otherwise, he dominated with 11 strikeouts and now has a 3.02 ERA on the season. Crochet continues to make his case for the American League Cy Young award. In his last 11 starts, he has a 1.48 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 94 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Marlins on the road next weekend.

  • Gives up six runs in no-decision
Suarez came away with a no-decision in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Marlins. He allowed six runs on nine hits and two walks.

Advice: Suarez struggled mightily Sunday, allowing a season-high six runs. Suarez pitched into the fifth inning and did not record a single strikeout, the first time in his career he has had zero strikeouts in a start. He faced 26 batters today, making it the first time a Phillies pitcher has faced at least 26 batters in a game without recording a strikeout since 2017. For the first time since his shutout on April 18th, he will go into a start with an ERA over two (2.27). Rotowire.com Today, 2:37 pm

  • Dazzles with 10 K's
Lugo (11-2) picked up the win Sunday against Cleveland, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out 10 over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Lugo was dominant Sunday, throwing 66 of his 93 pitches for strikes en route to 10 strikeouts. The 34-year-old logged his fourth-consecutive quality start and his 14th of the season, tied for first in the MLB. Over his past four starts, the right-hander has registered a robust 1.46 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and a 30:7 K:BB over 24.2 innings. He will look to keep rolling his next time out, currently scheduled for next weekend in Colorado. Rotowire.com Today, 2:33 pm
