    • Swats homer No. 10
Olson went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: The first baseman spoiled Baltimore's combined shutout bid by taking Keegan Akin deep in the eighth inning. Olson has hit safely in six straight games, and over his last 16 contests he's slashing .328/.385/.586 with three of his 10 homers on the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:11 am

    • Posts three-hit effort in win
Schanuel went 3-for-5 with a double and one run scored in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Schanuel went just 5-for-52 (.096) over 15 games since his last multi-hit effort. The first baseman is up to a .216/.282/.338 slash line with seven home runs, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases over 59 contests. His batting average hasn't been higher than .250 all year, but his iffy contact and lack of speed have yet to cost him the opportunity to regularly bat leadoff. However, Michael Stefanic got a look atop the order in the previous two games before sitting out Wednesday. While Schanuel's spot in the lineup isn't in question, he could drop the down order soon if he goes back to struggling at the plate. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:28 pm
    • TJ Friedl scores run as Reds top Guardians
TJ Friedl singled and scored a run as the Reds triumphed over the Guardians on Wednesday evening in Cincinnati.

Advice: Friedl singled off of Tanner Bibee in the sixth inning, then rode home on Jeimer Candelario’s go-ahead three-run homer. That would be the 28-year-old outfielder’s only hit in four at-bats on the day. He has been having a rough time at the plate in-between stints on the injured list this season, slashing a mere .221/.338/.382 with three homers, 13 RBI and five stolen bases in his first 19 games. • Matt Vierling clubs solo homer in loss to Nats
Matt Vierling clubbed a solo home run on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t enough to power the Tigers to victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Vierling connected on a 363-foot (94.6 mph EV) solo shot to lead off the home half of the first inning for the Tigers. He finished the night 1-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts and is now hitting .268/.309/.468 with eight long balls and 27 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:40 pm

    • Matt Olson hits two-run homer against Orioles
Matt Olson went 2-for-3 and hit a two-run homer against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer, which accounted for Atlanta’s only scoring tonight, briefly evened up the game in the top of the eighth, but the Orioles went right back ahead in the bottom of the inning. It’s incredible that the Braves’ lineup has basically been the equal of the White Sox’s for about a month and a half now. Olson has actually picked up his play during this terrible span, but he’s not getting much help. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:38 pm

    • Playing time to drop
Suarez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, and Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Blaze Alexander will receive more playing time at third base moving forward, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Wednesday's absence is just Suarez's fourth from the lineup this season, but it appears he'll sit more often going forward due to his .197/.263/.312 slash line through 66 games. Lovullo didn't specify how the playing time will be split, so it's possible Suarez still sees the majority of the action at the hot corner. Regardless, the 32-year-old should no longer be considered the Diamondbacks' everyday third baseman, at least for the time being. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:56 pm
    • Jake Meyers is not in the lineup on Wednesday
Jake Meyers is not in the Astros’ starting lineup on Wednesday against the Giants.

Advice: Meyers has been the regular center fielder for the Astros for a while now, but the 27-year-old is starting to cool down at the plate. Over the last 20 games, Meyers is hitting .227/.284/.293 with one home run, four steals, and a 25 percent strikeout rate. Meyers plays good defense in center field, which helps his case to keep starting, but if he doesn’t pick it up with the bat, more off days could be in his future. Interestingly, Chas McCormick is also not in the starting lineup as the Astros have opted to play Trey Cabbage in right field and Mauricio Dubon in center. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:29 pm

    • Sitting out versus lefty
Sanchez is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Mets.

Advice: With southpaw David Peterson on the hill for the Mets, the left-handed-hitting Sanchez will take a seat. Dane Myers will patrol right field for the Marlins. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:21 pm
    • Aiming for return next Thursday
Wade (hamstring) said Wednesday that he's pushing hard for a return from the 10-day injured list for the Giants' matchup with the Cardinals on June 20 at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala., Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: When he was placed on the IL on May 28 with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Wade was projected to miss four weeks, but the veteran first baseman took batting practice Tuesday and fielded grounders and started some light running Wednesday as he aims to beat his estimated return timeline by one week. Wade acknowledged that if he's able to return for MLB's June 20 Negro Leagues tribute game, he would likely be relegated to designated-hitter duties. The Giants will presumably continue to monitor Wade's progress as he ramps up over the next week before determining if a June 20 return is feasible. The 30-year-old hadn't been a premium source of counting stats prior to being deactivated due to the injury, but he was hitting an impressive .333 while getting on base at a .470 clip through his first 52 games of the season.
