    • MRI brings positive news
Manager Kevin Cash stated Monday that the news on Lowe's MRI was "pretty good" and the team is monitoring him on a day-to-day basis, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe was expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list over the weekend after recovering from an oblique injury that forced him to miss the first month of the 2024 campaign, but the club pushed the pause button after he felt some tightness in his right hamstring. This update from Cash is vague, so while it seems Lowe has managed to avoid a significant hamstring injury, the team has yet to provide a concrete timetable for the outfielder's return from the injured list. • Crosses plate twice in loss
De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

Advice: It was the 27-year-old's first multi-hit performance since April 17. De La Cruz has cooled down significantly, batting .205 (8-for-39) over the last 10 games, but he remains entrenched as the No. 2 hitter for a Miami team struggling to find consistent offense. On the season, he's slashing .261/.294/.437 with five homers, a steal, 13 runs and 14 RBI in 29 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:26 am
    • Mauricio Dubón goes 0-for-4 against Rockies
Mauricio Dubón went 0-for-4 as the Astros’ center fielder Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Jake Meyers isn’t supposed to be hurt, but he hasn’t started since taking a pitch off his forearm on Wednesday. Dubón has played center field in two of the last three games, while Chas McCormick slid over to center on Saturday. Dubón’s .279/.302/.393 line isn’t anything special, and while he’s fine there, he’s not quite the center fielder that Meyers is. He really shouldn’t be getting the majority of the playing time. • Steals eighth bag
Betts went 3-for-5 with a triple, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The 31-year-old extended his current hitting streak to seven games with his fourth straight multi-hit performance, and he also swiped a bag for the third straight contest. Betts is having a monster start to the season, slashing .391/.489/.661 through 115 plate appearances with six homers, eight steals, 23 RBI and 29 runs, and while it's early, he's firmly on pace for the second 30-30 campaign of his career. • Mookie Betts collects three hits against Blue Jays
Mookie Betts went 3-for-5 with a triple, a run scored, an RBI, and a stolen base on Saturday to lead the Dodgers to a 4-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Betts opened the game with a triple off Yusei Kikuchi and scored the first run of the game on a sacrifice fly. He later drove in a run with a base hit in the fourth. Betts added a single in the ninth and stole second for his eighth steal of the season. The 31-year-old star is slashing an incredible .391/.489/.661 with six homers, 29 runs scored, and 23 RBI across 137 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:05 pm

    • Resting against lefty
Wade isn't in the Giants' lineup for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: With the Giants set to face lefty Martin Perez on Saturday, the lefty-hitting Wade will stay put in the dugout to begin the game. Wilmer Flores will start at first base instead and bat second. Rotowire.com Saturday, 3:01 pm

    • Josh Lowe battling tightness in right hamstring
Rays’ outfielder Josh Lowe won’t be activated from the injured list on Saturday as he is now battling tightness in his right hamstring.

Advice: Lowe had told reporters on Friday that he was feeling great and ready to go, but it turns out he suffered a hamstring injury while rehabbing his injured oblique and will head for an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of that injury. So much for the Rays getting their dynamic outfielder back quickly. Look for the Rays to provide a new timeline after they get the results of Monday’s exam. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:49 pm

    • Activation delayed after setback
The Rays won't activate Lowe (oblique) from the 10-day injured list this weekend after the outfielder recently experienced tightness in his right hamstring, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: After wrapping up his rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Thursday while going 5-for-22 with a home run and four walks over his six-game stint in the minors, Lowe appeared to have fully moved past the right oblique strain that forced him to the IL coming out of spring training. Unfortunately for Lowe, his right hamstring issue now presents a new health concern, and he opted to fly back to Tampa rather than joining the Rays for their series in Chicago this weekend to receive an MRI on his leg. The Rays will wait for Lowe's MRI results to become available before determining his next steps. Rotowire.com Saturday, 1:33 pm

    • Sitting vs. southpaw
O'Hearn is not in the Orioles' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: With the Athletics sending out left-hander JP Sears, the lefty-hitting O'Hearn will open Saturday's game in the dugout. Adley Rutschman will start at designated hitter while James McCann forms a battery with starting pitcher Cole Irvin. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:24 am
