    • Logs steal in loss
Pena went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 9-7 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Pena is hitting .324 (23-for-71) over 19 games in May. It hasn't been a totally empty average -- he's picked up five extra-base hits, three steals, nine RBI and 14 runs scored. The shortstop is slashing .326/.365/.457 with seven steals, five homers, 20 RBI and 30 runs through 48 contests overall. He's in an everyday role and on pace for a 20-steal season, so there's a fair amount to like in Pena's game in his third major-league season. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

    • Fans eight in no-decision
Weathers did not factor into the decision Monday against Milwaukee, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Weathers generated 14 whiffs en route to his eight strikeouts, reaching that mark for the first time since punching out 10 on April 16 against San Francisco. The Miami lefty has thrown four consecutive quality starts, posting a 2.67 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB over 27 innings during that time. Weathers is currently slated to make his next start against Arizona on the road this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 7:15 pm

    • Ryan Weathers strikes out eight in no-decision
Ryan Weathers struck out eight and was charged with two runs (one earned) over seven innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Advice: Weathers generated 14 swinging strikes, including seven on his changeup alone, and finished with a robust 34 percent CSW. The 24-year-old lefty has pitched extremely well this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in nine of his 10 starts. His eight punchouts were the most since a 10-strikeout performance back on April 16. He’ll bring a solid 3.49 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 46/19 K/BB ratio across 56 2/3 innings (10 starts) into a road tilt on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Today, 7:02 pm

    • Officially activated
Swanson (knee) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday night, per MLB's transaction log.

Advice: Swanson was expected to be activated prior to Tuesday's game against Atlanta, and the team has elected to make the move official a bit earlier than anticipated despite not having a game Monday. Miles Mastrobuoni and Pete Crow-Armstrong were optioned to Triple-A Iowa in corresponding moves, making room for the upcoming promotion of Luis Vazquez. Rotowire.com Today, 5:06 pm

    • Cubs activated Dansby Swanson from I.L.
Cubs activated SS Dansby Swanson from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The Cubs don’t play today, so it’s kind of surprising that the move is coming now. However, MLB.com’s transactions page says it’s official. Still unofficial is the Luis Vazquez callup, which is expected to happen before the game Tuesday. Swanson should start at shortstop Tuesday after missing two weeks with a sprained knee. • Scheduled for sim game
Miller (shoulder) is expected to throw a simulated game Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Miller continues to make progress in his recovery after being sent to the 15-day injured list April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation. He successfully completed a bullpen session Saturday, and as expected, he's now been given the green light to toss a sim game. Miller will likely be sent out on a rehab assignment later in the week, assuming all goes well Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 4:33 pm

    • Craig Kimbrel back in closer’s role for Orioles
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde mostly confirmed Monday that Craig Kimbrel is again Baltimore’s closer.

Advice: It’s no surprise after Kimbrel picked up a clean save Sunday, but confirmation is always nice. MASN’s Steve Melewski quoted Hyde as saying: “Well yeah, I think so. Probably. I’m going to see how he feels today. … He looked great yesterday that was awesome. Really happy.” Yennier Cano can be dropped in shallow mixed leagues for now. Rotoworld Today, 2:24 pm

    • Will be primary third baseman
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that LeMahieu (foot) will be the team's primary third baseman when he returns, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: LeMahieu will be eased into everyday duty, though, after missing so much time with a right foot injury. The veteran infielder is a couple games into the resumption of his rehab assignment and isn't expected to be activated for at least another week or so. Once LeMahieu returns, Oswaldo Cabrera and Jon Berti will fill utility roles. Rotowire.com Today, 1:30 pm

    • Winker hitting 3rd for Nationals on Monday
Jesse Winker is in the lineup and hitting third on Monday against the Twins.

Advice: Winker was shaken up after making a catch the other day, but he will not miss any time. Not only is he in the lineup, but he’s hitting third after mostly hitting seventh or eighth previously. Winker got off to a strong start to the year, but he’s struggled over the last month and is now hitting just .224/.339/.381 with five home runs and five steals. He’s hitting just .143 in 15 games in May and can be dropped in most fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Today, 12:32 pm
