      Advice: Burger is back after spending just under three weeks on the injured list with a left oblique strain. He returns to a .228/.281/.421 slash with three homers and 15 RBI in 16 games.       Advice: As anticipated, Burger is back with the big club after missing the last few weeks rehabbing from a left intercostal strain.       Burger (oblique) joined the Marlins in Los Angeles and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

      Advice: On the shelf since April 15 with a left intercostal strain, Burger looks to have checked out fine after completing the final phase of his recovery process this past week, when he joined Triple-A Jacksonville for a rehab assignment. He played in three games for Jacksonville, going 3-for-11 with two runs, two walks and one RBI in addition to playing nine innings at first base and 18 innings at third base. Once activated, Burger should immediately settle back in as the Marlins' everyday option at the hot corner, resulting in Vidal Brujan and Emmanuel Rivera losing out on playing time.     • Spencer Torkelson has two doubles, RBI in loss
      Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Tigers fell to the Yankees on Sunday afternoon in New York.

      Advice: Torkelson smacked a two-out double off of Nestor Cortes in the second inning, but was left stranded there. He then got the Tigers on the board with a run-scoring double off of Ian Hamilton in the seventh inning. He’s still searching for his first home run of the season, but he does have 11 doubles and perhaps his bat is finally showing some signs of life.       Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that LeMahieu (foot) recently resumed hitting but that the veteran infielder may not be "that close to being ready for rehab [games]," Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: The 35-year-old was shut down for a week in late April after he experienced swelling in his foot during a rehab game, and he's now back to taking part in baseball activities.     • Spencer Torkelson moves down to seventh spot
      Spencer Torkelson is hitting seventh and playing first base against the Yankees on Saturday.

      Advice: Torkelson continues to move down in the lineup, and it’s easy to justify with a slash of .212/.282/.288 over 132 plate appearances. The first-overall pick in 2020 was excellent in the second-half of the 2023 campaign, but that hasn’t carried over whatsoever in 2024.       Marlins sent Jake Burger (oblique) on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville.

      Advice: The 28-year-old slugger was placed on the injured list a little over two weeks ago and will get some live at-bats with Jacksonville on Wednesday. Prior to hitting the injured list, Burger was slashing .228/.281/.421 with three home runs and 15 RBI in 64 plate appearances this season.       Walker went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Dodgers.

      Advice: Walker bookended the Diamondbacks' scoring with a solo home run in the fourth inning then a two-run, walk-off job in the bottom of the 10th. He closed out the month on a roll, going 10-for-24 (.417) with four homers and nine RBI over the final seven games.       Christian Walker homered twice including a two-run homer in the 10th inning to give the Diamondbacks a 4-3 win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.

      Advice: In a game that was delayed due to a swarm of bees, Walker ended up creating the buzz. Sorry. The first baseman homered in the fourth inning off Landon Knack, but the big blow was a two-run shot in the bottom of the 10th off Nabil Crismatt to give Arizona the victory.
