    • David Fry hits game-tying homer in ninth
David Fry hit a game-tying homer off Andrew Chafin in the ninth inning Wednesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Some curious bullpen management from the Tigers today got Fry a good matchup against a lefty in the ninth and he wound up with his second homer. This was actually a rare start against a righty for Fry, but he went 0-for-3 against them. The homer off Chafin made him 10-for-24 with four extra-base hits, 10 walks and two HBPs versus lefties this season. That’s a ridiculous .595 OBP. Unfortunately, an expanded role for Fry seems even less likely now that Kyle Manzardo is up. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

Wednesday’s scheduled contest between the Cardinals and Mets in New York was postponed due to rain.

Advice: The game will be made up on August 5. The Cardinals’ scheduled starter, Sonny Gray, will pitch on Thursday against the Brewers. Mets’ scheduled starter Jose Quintana will pitch on Friday, pushing rookie right-hander Christian Scott back to Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 1:19 pm

    • Mets-Cardinals game postponed
Gray and the Cardinals won't play the Mets on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The game will be made up on Aug. 5, which had been a mutual off day for the two clubs. As a result of the postponement, Gray is expected to be pushed back one day in the pitching schedule to start Thursday in Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Today, 12:55 pm

    • Records fifth steal
Gimenez went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 11-7 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: After ending April with three straight multi-hit efforts, Gimenez has gone a mere 5-for-26 over seven contests to begin May. The steal was his first since April 28. The second baseman is at a .263/.333/.353 slash line through 151 plate appearances, but he's mustered just nine extra-base hits, including only one homer, after logging 15 long balls, 27 doubles and five triples in 153 games a year ago. Gimenez is also striking out at a career-low 15.9 percent rate, though he may need to give back some of his plate discipline to produce more power. Rotowire.com Today, 9:58 am

    • Slugs homer No. 10
Tucker went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-3 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: He took Luis Gil deep in the first inning, but things quickly went off the rails for the Astros after that. Tucker has gone yard in back-to-back games and has five long balls in his last nine contests, a surge that has him tied for second in the majors with 10 HR, one behind Shohei Ohtani. Tucker is slashing .279/.396/.566 through 35 games with five steals, 24 runs and 24 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 8:07 am

    • Dominates Marlins over eight frames
Yamamoto improved to 4-1 in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five over eight innings.

Advice: Yamamoto gave up a first-pitch home run to Jazz Chisholm to open up the game and his only other blemish on the night came from another solo home run by Bryan De La Cruz in the sixth. He was incredibly efficient, needing 97 pitches to navigate through eight innings. It was his first time pitching past six innings as a major leaguer and he's now won four straight decisions since suffering a loss in his debut on March 21 versus the Padres in the Seoul Series. Removing the shaky outing in Korea, Yamamoto owns a 1.76 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 45:7 K:BB in 41 innings this season. He'll look to keep rolling next week in a projected road matchup against the Giants. • Homers in Tuesday's loss
Nootbaar went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, three walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.

Advice: Nootbaar supplied a late home run in the ninth off Adam Ottavino to bring the Cardinals within two runs. It was his first long ball since his season debut April 12. His eye at the plate was magnificent, as he drew three walks for the first time since Sept. 15 after having walked just twice since April 20 entering Tuesday's game. The 26-year-old has yet to find a groove at the dish thus far, slashing only .183/.295/.329 with eight extra-base hits, eight RBI, seven runs and a 13:17 BB:K in 96 plate appearances. • Lasts seven innings in no-decision
Imanaga didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against San Diego, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Imanaga allowed more than five hits for the first time this season and tied his season-high earned-run total, but it was hardly a disappointing start for the rookie, who's arguably been the best starter in baseball. He blanked the Padres through seven innings but allowed an infield single to Luis Arraez and a home run to Jurickson Profar in the eighth before being pulled. Imanaga has fanned seven or more batters in three straight starts, and the Cubs are 7-0 overall in his starts. The lefty is tentatively scheduled to make his next start Tuesday in Atlanta. • Imanaga dazzles with eight strikeouts vs. Padres
Shota Imanaga allowed two earned runs over seven innings while striking out eight in the Cubs’ 3-2 win over the Padres.

Advice: Imanaga was stellar again on a night where the Cubs only provided him one run on offense. Unfortunately, a disastrous eighth inning, which he entered with 95 pitches already on the ledger, quickly went awry for the lefty, who gave up a single a two-run homer to Jurickson Profar in the frame to get saddled with the loss. Outside of the disastrous eighth, Imanaga didn’t run into too much trouble in this one, stranding only one runner in scoring position while limiting the Padres to only singles through his first seven innings. He still sits at a perfect 5-0 on the season, but will look to earn his sixth win on Monday against the Braves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:22 pm
