    • Reynaldo López shuts out Orioles for six in win
Reynaldo López shut out the Orioles for six innings, striking out eight, in the Braves’ 6-3 win Thursday.

Advice: López left with a four-run lead, which was fortunate since Pierce Johnson gave up a three-run homer in the seventh. It’s just the fourth victory for López, even though he’s allowed three runs or fewer in all 12 of his starts. If he had done this for the 2023 Braves, he’d probably have at least twice as many wins right now. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago
    • Tosses another gem
Lopez (4-2) earned the win Thursday, allowing no runs on two hits and a walk over six innings against the Orioles. He struck out eight.

Advice: Lopez allowed only three baserunners on the day, never more than one in an inning, and matching a season-high with eight strikeouts. Lopez has made a habit this year of tossing gems, collecting his eighth quality start while never allowing more than three runs in an outing and allowing two runs or less for the 11th time in 12 starts this season. Lopez will carry a league-leading 1.69 ERA into his next outing, currently scheduled to take place early next week when the Tigers pay a visit to Atlanta for a three-game set. • Out against left-hander
Lowe is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Cubs.

Advice: The Cubs are sending southpaw Justin Steele to the hill in the rubber match, so the left-handed hitting Lowe will begin the game on the bench. Jonny DeLuca is playing right field for the Rays. Rotowire.com Today, 12:21 pm

    • Ready for rehab assignment
Kremer (triceps) threw a bullpen session Thursday without issues and could begin a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend, Sam Cohn of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said a decision hasn't been made regarding which affiliate Kremer will join and which day he might pitch, but the right-hander is seemingly coming along well in his recovery from a triceps strain in any case. After being placed on the 15-day injured list May 24, Kremer may need only one rehab outing to get stretched back out before he rejoins the Baltimore rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 9:58 am

    • Kodai Senga (shoulder) throws bullpen session
Kodai Senga said his bullpen session Wednesday went well. He’s expected to have two more before facing hitters.

Advice: The Mets don’t have a timetable for Senga at this point, but from the sound of things, he could begin a rehab assignment at the end of the month if he continues to progress. Senga has yet to pitch this season because of a shoulder injury. Rotoworld Today, 9:21 am

    • Dean Kremer (triceps) throws side session
Dean Kremer threw a side session Thursday and will likely soon begin a rehab assignment.

Advice: The Orioles were considering bringing Kremer back from a triceps strain without a rehab assignment, but it appears he’ll make a minor league start this weekend and then probably rejoin the Orioles next weekend. That opens the door for Cade Povich to perhaps get a start next week against the Yankees. Rotoworld Today, 9:08 am

    • Starting rehab assignment
Marsh (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Reading on Thursday.

Advice: Marsh has been working out with Reading in recent days and is ready to test out his strained right hamstring in a game setting. The outfielder shouldn't require too many rehab games before being activated since he just landed on the 10-day injured list June 3. A return early next week at the start of the Phillies' homestand seems like a sensible target for Marsh. Rotowire.com Today, 8:57 am

    • Brandon Marsh (hamstring) to begin rehab assignment
Brandon Marsh will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Reading on Thursday night.

Advice: It should be a brief minor league stint for Marsh, who is on the IL with a hamstring strain. He’s eligible to come off the injured list today and, barring a setback, will probably be activated this weekend. It will be interesting to see how the Phillies make room for him, given that David Dahl has been very impressive in his absence and has no options remaining. Sending down Weston Wilson would leave the Phillies short-handed in the infield, and releasing Whit Merrifield probably isn’t an option. Demoting Johan Rojas might be a possibility. • Swats homer No. 10
Olson went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: The first baseman spoiled Baltimore's combined shutout bid by taking Keegan Akin deep in the eighth inning. Olson has hit safely in six straight games, and over his last 16 contests he's slashing .328/.385/.586 with three of his 10 homers on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 am
