    • Blanks Jays in no-decision
Falter came away with a no-decision in Friday's 5-3 extra-innings loss to the Blue Jays, allowing two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The southpaw left the game with the Pirates nursing a 1-0 lead, but the game didn't end up getting decided until the 14th. Falter tossed 56 of 81 pitches for strikes in his fourth straight quality start and sixth of the season, and the former Phillie has become a surprisingly reliable rotation option in 2024. He'll take a 3.22 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB through 64.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago
    • Giovanny Gallegos (shoulder) starts rehab assignment
Giovanny Gallegos (shoulder) tossed a perfect inning on Friday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Gallegos has been out since early May due to a right shoulder impingement, but appears to be getting close to returning to St. Louis. The 32-year-old veteran reliever struggled in 13 appearances to open the season and can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago
    • Max Meyer whiffs seven on Friday at Triple-A
Max Meyer struck out seven over four innings on Friday for Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: It’s a bit perplexing that Miami is keeping Meyer in the minors as he continues to excel over his last handful of outings. There is no timetable for the 25-year-old righty to return to the big leagues as the Marlins’ front office clearly wants to limit his workload. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

    • Shelby Miller sharp on Friday in rehab appearance
Shelby Miller (elbow) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings on Friday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: Miller gave up one hit and struck out a pair of batters in his latest rehab outing. The 33-year-old veteran reliever doesn’t appear to be far off from rejoining Detroit’s bullpen mix. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

    • Wins with shaky outing
Severino (3-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over Arizona.

Advice: Severino got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He gave up one more over the next four frames before Eugenio Suarez knocked him out of the game with a solo shot in the sixth inning. Severino still earned his first win since April 17 in the chaotic 10-9 contest. He ends May with a subpar 4.91 ERA and 23:16 K:BB through 29 frames. Severino will carry a 3.52 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be in Washington. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago
    • Yariel Rodríguez goes two innings Friday at AAA
Yariel Rodríguez (back) allowed one run over two innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Rodríguez allowed two hits, issued one walk and also notched one strikeout, needing 43 pitches (25 strikes) to complete two frames. The 27-year-old righty has made a couple rehab appearances so far as he works his way back to Toronto and figures to operate in a multi-inning relief role upon returning. • Bryan Woo (arm) likely to make next start vs. A’s
Mariners manager Scott Servais said late Friday that Bryan Woo (arm) is expected to make his next start.

Advice: Servais told reporters Woo was lifted after just 66 pitches since he’s been dealing with some “arm-stuff” and didn’t throw his usual between-starts bullpen session earlier this week. No word on the specific issue Woo is dealing with, but it doesn’t sound serious. It appears likely Seattle is merely exercising some caution with the 24-year-old righty, who has been phenomenal when healthy this season, but there’s zero indication that he’ll miss his next start on Thursday against the Athletics. He should benefit from an extra day of rest before taking the ball again. Rotoworld Today, 4:31 am

    • Jordan Lawlar (thumb) starts rehab assignment
Diamondbacks SS prospect Jordan Lawlar (thumb) hit a two-run double on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Arizona’s Rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate.

Advice: Lawlar is working his way back from late-March thumb surgery, which was expected to keep him sideline for at least 8-10 weeks. The 21-year-old is one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire fantasy landscape and figures to be ready to return to Arizona at some point later this summer. Rotoworld Today, 4:27 am
    • Rockies re-sign John Curtiss to minor league pact
Rockies re-signed RHP John Curtiss to a minor league contract.

Advice: Curtiss is back in the fold with Colorado just a few days after electing free agency following his removal from the club’s 40-man roster. The 31-year-old righty returns to Triple-A Albuquerque as emergency relief depth. Rotoworld Today, 4:22 am
