    • Rehab assignment getting closer
Nootbaar (oblique) is tracking toward beginning a rehab assignment soon, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Nootbaar has been shelved since late May with a left oblique strain but appears close to being ready to play in games. The outfielder shouldn't need too many rehab games in the minors since he's been on the injured list for just over three weeks. A return before the All-Star break is likely. • Starling Marte out Sunday with ongoing knee issue
Starling Marte (knee) is not in the lineup for Sunday night’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: New York’s front office hasn’t made a roster move yet, so it doesn’t sound like Marte is ticketed for the injured list after leaving Saturday’s game with right knee soreness. The 35-year-old veteran outfielder will get some extra time off to rest and recover from the lingering issue and is presumably day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Sunday, 12:33 pm

    • Sitting vs. lefty Sunday
Yoshida is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Reds.

Advice: With Cincinnati sending southpaw Nick Lodolo to the mound Sunday, the lefty-hitting Yoshida will begin the game in the dugout. He went 0-for-8 over the first two games of the series, and since returning from a thumb injury June 11, he's gone 4-for-34 with one RBI. Rob Refsnyder will serve as the designated hitter Sunday and bat second. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:11 am

    • Idle versus lefty
Carroll is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Phillies, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Carroll will begin Sunday's game in the dugout with Philadelphia sending southpaw Cristopher Sanchez to the mound. Carroll is slashing .257/.373/.386 with 18 runs and five RBI over 70 at-bats in June. Jake McCarthy will start Sunday's game in center field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:56 am

    • Sitting Sunday, MRI on Monday
Marte (knee) is not expected to be in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs and will receive an MRI on Monday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Marte was removed from Saturday's game with right knee soreness, an issue that's lingered throughout June. The Mets will give Marte a day to rest before sending him for imaging during Monday's team off day to see if there's any structural damage. Rotowire.com Saturday, 2:06 pm

    • Exits game with right knee injury
Marte left Saturday's game against the Cubs due to a sore right knee, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Marte left after the first inning and was replaced by Tyrone Taylor in center field. It's the same knee that has been sore for Marte over the last few weeks. The Mets will hopefully provide some clarity on the severity of the injury following Saturday's game. Rotowire.com Saturday, 12:19 pm

    • Starling Marte leaves game with knee soreness
Starling Marte was removed from Saturday’s game against the Cubs with right knee soreness.

Advice: MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo adds that Marte has been battling a right knee issue for the past couple weeks. There should be an update on his status at some point in the near future, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a few days off moving forward in an effort to hopefully put the ongoing issue to bed. • Stolen base, run in win
Carroll went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 5-4 win over the Phillies. He was also hit by a pitch.

Advice: Carroll walked and stole a base ahead of Gabriel Moreno's home run in the third inning. The stolen base was Carroll's team-leading 14th, which is tied for 20th in MLB. As Carroll's reached base more frequently in the last two weeks, he's picked up his running pace. He's gotten on base at a .443 clip over the last 14 games and has attempted six steals during that stretch. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:40 am

    • Two steals in win
Rengifo went 1-for-4 with two stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Rengifo reached the 20-steal mark for the season Friday after totaling just 18 thefts over his first five campaigns combined. The infielder has been good in June, batting .279 (19-for-68) with eight steals on 11 attempts, though he has just one extra-base hit this month. For the year, he's at a .311/.360/.425 slash line with four home runs, 20 RBI, 28 runs scored, 10 doubles and a triple through 59 contests. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:45 pm
