    • Luis Rengifo exits game with hand injury Wednesday
Luis Rengifo was removed from Wednesday night’s battle against the Athletics in the ninth inning due to an apparent hand injury.

Advice: Rengifo appeared to injure his hand while swinging the bat on a foul ball in the ninth inning. Whatever the issue is, it was substantial enough to pull him from the game in the middle of an at-bat. The Angels should have an update on Rengifo’s status prior to Thursday’s series finale. • Exits with injury
Rengifo was removed from Wednesday's game versus Oakland due to an apparent injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Rengifo's hand/wrist seemed to be bothering him after he fouled off a pitch in the ninth inning, and he was immediately replaced at the plate following the incident. The specifics of his injury remain unknown, but the Angels will presumably take him in for imaging and should offer more information ahead of Thursday's game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:58 pm

    • Masataka Yoshida plates two in win over Marlins
Masataka Yoshida went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday, powering the sizzling-hot Red Sox to a 7-2 blowout win over the Marlins.

Advice: Yoshida followed up a two-hit performance during Tuesday’s series opener at loanDepot park with a go-ahead run-scoring single in the third inning before tacking on a pivotal insurance run with a seventh-inning ground out. He also walked and scored a run in the ninth inning. The 30-year-old designated hitter, who missed a significant portion of the first half due to a thumb injury, has been scorching-hot at the dish recently, batting .440 (11-for-25) with four RBI over his last seven games. • Bryce Harper leads N.L. All-Star vote getters
Bryce Harper led all National League players in voting for the All-Star Game, getting named to his eighth All-Star team.

Advice: What remains unclear is whether or not Harper — who is currently stationed on the injured list with a left hamstring strain, will be able to participate in the Mid-Summer Classic. Here’s who will join him in the starting lineup for the National League All-Stars (with their number of times making the All-Star team and starting in the game in parentheses): C: William Contreras (2 - 1x starter), 1B: Bryce Harper (8 - 7x starter), 2B: Ketel Marte (2 - 2x starter), SS: Trea Turner (3 - 2x starter), 3B: Alec Bohm (1 - 1x starter), DH: Shohei Ohtani (4 - 4x starter), OF: Christian Yelich (3 - 2x starter), Jurickson Profar (1 - 1x starter) and Fernando Tatis Jr. (2 - 2x starter). • Does light running
Harris (hamstring) began running Wednesday, but there's still no timetable for when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Harris suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain June 14 and was able to do some light running for the first time since sustaining the injury. Considering he still has multiple checkpoints to hit before being sent on a rehab assignment, Harris can safely be ruled out until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:01 pm

    • Rejoining lineup Wednesday
Martinez (ankle) will be in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: The 36-year-old was scratched from Tuesday's starting nine due to ankle soreness, which apparently surfaced because he was forced to try out a new pair of cleats. Martinez has since received another shipment of his usual cleats and shouldn't have any issues going forward. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:35 pm

    • J.D. Martinez (ankle) returns to lineup Wednesday
J.D. Martinez (ankle) returned to the Mets’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s battle against the Nationals.

Advice: Martinez was scratched from the team’s starting lineup on Tuesday due to soreness in his left ankle — that he got from having to use cleats that were emergency ordered from Amazon. Fortunately, Adidas sent him a couple of pairs before his regular shipment is scheduled to arrive, so he should be good to go on Wednesday. The 36-year-old slugger got off to a slow start with the Mets but has been killing it lately. On the season, he’s slashing .278/.360/.493 with 10 homers and 37 RBI in 56 games. • Described as pain-free
Yamamoto is no longer feeling pain in his right shoulder, but he hasn't yet started throwing, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Yamamoto was diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain two days after being able to complete only two innings in his most recent start June 15. While the rookie right-hander is now pain-free, he isn't yet throwing, and manager Dave Roberts indicated that there's no clear timeframe for when the hurler will pick up a ball again. The organization figures to be cautious with Yamamoto, and he almost certainly won't return to action until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:55 pm
    • Slugs seventh homer
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, scored twice and drew a walk during the Rays' win over Kansas City on Tuesday.

Advice: Lowe's seventh-inning walk enabled him to score on an Isaac Paredes double immediately afterward, and his homer in the ninth frame gave Tampa Bay some additional insurance as the team cruised to a 5-1 victory. The 29-year-old has now hit seven home runs on the year, two of which have come in his last two games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:41 am
