    • Generates another quality start
Kirby didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over six-plus innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Kirby posted a sixth straight quality start and left the contest having allowed just one run. However, he left a pair of runners on the basepaths, both of which came in to score on a George Springer home run to finalize Kirby's earned run total at three. Kirby is tied for the 10th most quality starts in baseball and ranks top-10 in innings pitched with 111.2. He owns a 3.39 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP along with an outstanding 109:11 K:BB on the year. He's scheduled to face the Angels next weekend. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Goes deep off bench
Naylor went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Advice: Naylor didn't start the contest, but he pinch hit for Austin Hedges with two on and two outs in the sixth inning. That proved to be a smart move from manager Stephen Vogt, as Naylor delivered a go-ahead homer, his first long ball since June 22. The catcher hasn't flashed a ton of power this year with five homers and a .338 slugging percentage over 64 contests. He's added two stolen bases, 23 RBI, 23 runs scored, nine doubles and a triple while batting .205 on the season. Despite going hitless in seven of his last 11 games, he continues to see a majority of playing time behind the plate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:15 pm

    • Possible return Monday
Nootbaar (oblique) is nearing a return and could rejoin the Cardinals as soon as Monday in Washington.

Advice: Nootbaar has been out since May 30 while recovering from a left oblique strain, but he appears to be on the cusp of being activated from the 15-day injured list. The outfielder went 6-for-23 with two home runs, three RBI and four runs scored over seven games during his rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield before joining returning to St. Louis. • George Kirby posts quality start in no-decision
George Kirby logged a quality start in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon, giving up three runs on seven hits over his six-plus frames.

Advice: The right-hander racked up eight strikeouts on the day while allowing only one base on balls. The Jays scratched out a run against him in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Alejandro Kirk. Kirby then allowed a pair of singles to start the seventh inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen — and both runs ultimately scored. The 26-year-old hurler got 16 swings and misses on 93 pitches in the contest — 10 of those on his heater — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to finish his first half strong as he brings a 3.39 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 109/11 K/BB ratio (111 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Angels in Los Angeles. • Corbin Carroll hits first homer in two months
Corbin Carroll took the Padres’ Dylan Cease deep Sunday for his first homer since May 7.

Advice: Carroll hit the ball 397 feet, his second-farthest shot this year. It’s the first time since that May 7 homer that he’d hit one over 370 feet. Carroll has just one 400-foot blast this season, compared to 21 last year. We still wouldn’t say there’s a whole lot to be encouraged about here. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:47 pm
    • Swipes eighth bag
Hayes went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Mets.

Advice: Hayes reached base in three of his four at-bats Sunday, as he also reached on an error in addition to a pair of singles. Hayes now has multi-hit games in four of his last eight games, with three steals in that span. The power numbers continue to plague Hayes though, as he's slugging a lowly .299 for the season. The 27-year-old has 11 extra-base hits through 270 plate appearances this season and will need to pick those numbers up in order to have a larger fantasy impact. • Naylor has huge pinch-hit home run
Bo Naylor went 1-for-2 with a pinch-hit three-run home run in a win over the Giants on Sunday.

Advice: Naylor was called on to hit for Austin Hedges in the sixth inning with the Guardians trailing 3-2. He responded with a 378-foot home run that gave the Guardians a lead they would never give up. The 24-year-old is hitting just .205 on the season with five home runs, so he’ll need to do this a little more often to get back on the fantasy radar. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:52 pm

    • Could be activated Tuesday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Sunday that Harper (hamstring) is "in play" to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: While Thomson confirmed that Kyle Schwarber (groin) will be back with the big club Tuesday, the skipper was less certain that Harper will be ready to go for the start of the three-game series with the NL West leaders. On a positive note, Harper ran on the field for a second straight day Sunday, with Zolecki relaying that the first baseman appeared to be moving at close to 100 percent intensity. Harper has been on the IL since June 28 with a left hamstring strain, with his absence opening up regular playing time at first base for Kody Clemens against right-handed pitching. • Getting rest Sunday
Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Naylor will get a breather for the afternoon contest after he had started behind the plate in each of the Guardians' last four games while going 2-for-14 with a walk, two RBI and a stolen base. Austin Hedges will handle the catching duties Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:59 am
