    • Belts go-ahead grand slam
Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a grand slam during Wednesday's 6-2 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Cronenworth swatted his third-career grand slam in the seventh inning off reliever Fernando Cruz, breaking the 2-2 tie and giving the Padres the eventual win. The first baseman has generated a hit in six straight games with five extra-base hits and nine total RBI during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:33 pm
    • Slam Diego: Jake Cronenworth powers Padres to win
Jake Cronenworth blasted a tie-breaking seventh-inning grand slam on Wednesday, powering the Padres to a 6-2 victory over the Reds.

Advice: Cronenworth put San Diego ahead for good with a towering grand slam to right field off Reds standout reliever Fernando Cruz in the seventh inning. It was his fifth long ball of the season and lone hit in three at-bats. The 30-year-old on-base machine has helped hold things together this season as a mainstay in the heart of San Diego’s lineup. • Goes deep in loss
Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Cronenworth doubled his first time up and then would briefly put the Padres in front with a two-run shot to right off Taijuan Walker in the third. The 30-year-old has found his bat lately with seven hits and five RBI over his last five games. For the year, he's now slashing .264/.344/.453 with four homers, 19 RBI, 14 runs and a 12:19 BB:K in 122 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:35 am
    • Takes seat Sunday
Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: With the Royals wrapping up their series with a day game and with ace lefty Tarik Skubal on the bump for the Tigers, Kansas City manager Matt Quatraro likely felt that it was an opportune time to give the lefty-hitting Pasquantino a game off. Pasquantino had started in each of the Royals' last 14 games and had gone hitless over the past five contests. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:20 am
    • Vinnie Pasquantino gets Sunday off vs. Tigers
Vinnie Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Pasquantino has gone hitless over his last five games, and the 26-year-old will take a seat for Sunday’s contest with tough lefty Tarik Skubal on the bump for the Tigers. Salvador Perez draws the start at first base with Freddy Fermin behind the plate and Adam Frazier the designated hitter. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:52 am
    • Red Sox move Triston Casas to 60-day IL
Red Sox transferred 1B Triston Casas to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: The team needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for the addition of Garrett Cooper, and Casas made logical sense after it was reported that he’s dealing with torn cartilage in his ribs and could be sidelined for up to nine weeks. He won’t be eligible to return until the end of June. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:09 pm

    • Out until late June
The Red Sox transferred Casas (ribs) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Casas was diagnosed with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage Friday, and he won't be eligible to rejoin the Red Sox until at least June 21 as a result of his move to the 60-day IL. The Red Sox made the transaction to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Garrett Cooper, whom the team acquired from the Cubs on Saturday in exchange for cash considerations. Once he arrives in Boston, Cooper will likely take over as the team's everyday first baseman in Casas' stead. Whether Casas is able to return from the IL when first eligible in late June likely won't become clear until weeks down the road, when he could be ready to resume workouts. • Jake Cronenworth not in Padres lineup on Saturday
Jake Cronenworth is absent from the Padres’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Phillies.

Advice: It appears to be nothing more than a regular day of rest for the 30-year-old infielder with left-hander Ranger Suarez toeing the slab for the Phillies. Jurickson Profar will make just his second start of the season at first base while Jose Azocar enters the lineup in left field for the Padres. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:59 pm
    • Hits bench versus lefty
Cronenworth isn't in the Padres' lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Cronenworth will get a breather Friday with lefty Ranger Suarez on the mound for Philadelphia. Jurickson Profar will start in his place at first base, allowing Jose Azocar to start in left field while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 1:46 pm
