    • Grayson Rodriguez tagged for seven runs by Astros
Grayson Rodriguez surrendered seven runs in five innings Friday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Every time it looks like Rodriguez is ready to turn the corner and become an elite fantasy starter, something like this happens. Still, Rodriguez appears to be on the right path. Just three times this season has he allowed more than two earned runs, and while he’s been lit up for 18 runs in those three starts, he’s actually posted a 25/4 K/BB ratio in those outings. • Perfect at plate Friday
Cronenworth went 5-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, two RBI and four runs scored in Friday's 9-5 win over the Brewers.

Advice: This was Cronenworth's first five-hit game. He's been pretty good lately with five multi-hit efforts over his last 13 contests, going 16-for-50 (.320) in that span. The infielder's big game lifted his slashing line to .266/.330/.464 with 12 homers, 49 RBI, 36 runs scored, 17 doubles and one stolen base over 75 contests this season. • Takes blown save, loss
Duran (3-3) allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one over one inning, taking the loss and a blown save versus the Athletics on Friday.

Advice: Duran served up a two-run home run to Shea Langeliers after being called upon to pitch in a high-leverage situation in the eighth inning. This was Duran's first blown save of the year -- he's converted 11 saves and added four holds over 24 appearances. The closer has a 3.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB through 23 innings overall. • Jake Cronenworth has five-hit day in win over MIL
Jake Cronenworth went 5-for-5 with a homer, four runs scored and a stolen base in a 9-5 win over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Cronenworth and Manny Machado combined for nine hits on Friday, which is a large number. The infielder hit his 12th homer of the season in the sixth off Colin Rea. The five knocks for Cronenworth give him seven in the last two games, and he’s seen his average rise from .251 to .266. The 30-year-old has been streaky for the majority of his career, and he appears to be on the right side of that right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:00 pm

    • Jhoan Duran blows save in eighth against A’s
Jhoan Duran blew a save while allowing two runs and also picked up a loss to the A’s on Friday.

Advice: Duran has lost three games in 2024, but this was technically his first blown save of the year. The right-hander came in during the eighth, but gave up a hit to Daz Cameron and then a two-run blast to Shea Langeliers. A disappointing effort for fantasy teams and the Twins, but Duran should still be counted on going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:09 pm

    • Returning to Arlington
Jung (wrist) was pulled from his rehab assignment Friday to be evaluated in Arlington before the Rangers decide whether or not to activate him this weekend, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung went 4-for-17 in four rehab games with Triple-A Round Rock and could be cleared to rejoin the Rangers' active roster this weekend. The third baseman hasn't played since fracturing his wrist on April 1 and was initially expected to receive roughly 30 at-bats in the minor leagues before being reinstated. Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran have been handling most of the third base work during Jung's absence. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:33 pm

    • Belts walk-off homer
Cronenworth went 2-for-5 with a walk-off solo home run and an additional run in Thursday's 7-6 win against the Brewers.

Advice: Cronenworth became the latest ninth-inning hero for the Padres when he swatted a 401-foot solo blast to give the team its third straight walk-off win. The long ball was the 11th of the season through 74 games for the infielder, who has already surpassed his total of 10 homers over 127 contests last year. Cronenworth is on pace to exceed his career-best totals of 21 home runs and 71 RBI, which he established in 2021. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:58 am

    • Homers in third straight game
Gelof went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Gelof temporarily tied the score with his two-run shot off Seth Lugo in the seventh inning. After a slow start to the season, the second baseman has perked up with the bat of late, going deep in each of his past three contests and driving in seven runs across his past four games. Gelof's strikeout woes have continued over that span, though, as he's fanned eight times to push his strikeout rate on the season up to an ugly 34.7 percent. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:04 am

    • Jake Cronenworth delivers walkoff homer for Padres
Jake Cronenworth hit a walkoff homer off Joel Payamps as the Padres edged the Brewers 7-6 on Thursday.

Advice: Payamps couldn’t possibly have made a worse 3-2 pitch, and Cronenworth deposited the breaking ball 355 feet down the right field line for his 11th homer of the year. That’s one more in 74 games this season than he had in 127 games last year Cronenworth had been in a little 2-for-24 slump since his previous homer on June 11. Rotoworld Thursday, 11:17 pm
