      Advice: Wong made his first start since coming off the paternity list Thursday and extended a hit streak to 14 games (18-for-52, .346). Three months into the season and Wong is maintaining a .328 average, nearly 100 points higher than his career average entering 2024 (.232). Red Sox hitting coach Pete Fatse credits Wong being more direct with his swing path which has led to more zone contact, per Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe.       Gelof went 3-for-4 with a triple, a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Gelof had gone 2-for-17 over his previous five contests before his big game Friday. The second baseman's triple was his second of the campaign and his first extra-base hit since June 20.       Zack Gelof stole a base and went 3-for-4 in a win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

      Advice: Gelof also scored two runs and drew a walk for a big fantasy night for the second-year 24-year-old. One of the hits was a triple — his second of the season — and his steal gives him nine of the season. it’s nice to see some success for Gelof as a reminder that there’s some long-term potential in his bat, as a .205/.259/.352 slash doesn’t exactly scream fantasy upside.       Stroman came away with a no-decision in Friday's 16-5 rout of the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: The veteran right-hander made his big-league debut with the Jays in 2014 and had trouble keeping his composure in his return to Toronto, getting the hook after 88 pitches (52 strikes) and not sticking around long enough to benefit from a season-best offensive explosion by the Yankees. Stroman completed six innings only once in five June starts, but on the year he still sports a 3.29 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 70:43 K:BB through 95.2 innings.       Marcus Stroman allowed three earned runs across 4 1/3 innings on Friday against the Blue Jays. He struck out three, walked three in a no-decision.

      Advice: Stroman labored through two very long innings against the Blue Jays. He could not put them away despite not allowing much hard contact and many long-at bats drove his pitch count up.       Michael Harris II (hamstring) has been throwing and taking swings but has yet to be cleared to resume running.

      Advice: The dynamic 23-year-old outfielder is making progress in his recovery from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, but it’s hard to put a clear timetable on a potential return to the Braves’ lineup until he starts running again.     • Swing test pushed back
      Jung (wrist) will have his swing test pushed back to Saturday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

      Advice: Jung was slated to swing a bat Friday, but he'll have that evaluation pushed back a day. He has been on the injured list since April 2 with a fractured right wrist, and his rehab program with Triple-A Round Rock was shut down due to tendon inflammation. Jung could be activated off the injured list soon if his wrist checks out OK on Saturday, though he'll likely be eased back into the action with planned off days once he does return.       Harris (hamstring) has not yet been cleared to begin a running program, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Harris is two weeks removed from suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, and while he's feeling better, it's not yet to the point where he's able to do any running.       Jung (wrist) will attempt to swing a bat Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

      Advice: Jung's return has been delayed due to inflammation in his surgically repaired right wrist, but he's ready to test things out swinging a bat after resting for a week and receiving a cortisone shot. The third baseman could be activated soon if things go well in the cage Friday, but when Jung does return he might be eased back into action by playing every other day or receiving one off day per series, according to Grant.
