      Benson was removed from Sunday's loss to Boston after getting hit by a pitch on the inside of his left elbow, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. X-rays following the game came back negative.

      Advice: Benson was plunked during the bottom of the eighth inning and stayed in the game to run, but he was replaced by Nick Martini for the top of the ninth. Prior to leaving, Benson went 0-for-3, running his hitless streak to a career-high 21 at-bats. It's unclear if the injury will force Benson to miss much action, but it's unlikely he will be in the lineup Monday against Pittsburgh left-hander Bailey Falter.       Thomas (hamstring) will take live batting practice Monday then head to Triple-A Reno to continue a rehab assignment, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Thomas will be the hitter in a live BP session thrown by Zac Gallen (hamstring). Thomas' rehab assignment was paused the middle of last week then resumed over the weekend; he had six combined at-bats over two games in the Arizona Complex League and played seven innings in center field Saturday.       Advice: The steal was the first of Pages' young career, and Sunday also saw the rookie catcher log his first multi-hit effort. He's hit safely in six of his last 10 games, going 7-for-33 (.212) in that span to lift his season slash line to .155/.227/.276 over 66 plate appearances. Pages has seen a majority of the playing time at catcher lately, as Ivan Herrera was battling back tightness that ultimately landed him on the injured list. Pages is expected to slip back into a backup role when Willson Contreras (forearm) returns, though it's possible Pages maintains some steady playing time since the Cardinals value his defensive skills.       Advice: Taveras took part in the Rangers' three-run third inning, plating Nathaniel Lowe and Wyatt Langford on a two-run single with two outs.
