• Varsho blasts ninth home run Thursday
Daulton Varsho went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Varsho came to the plate in a tie game in the seventh inning and hit a two-run home run off Tigers starter Jack Flaherty that put the Blue Jays ahead for good. Varsho is hitting just .213 this year, but he has five stolen bases to go with nine home runs and 27 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:30 pm
  • Set for weekend return
Ramos (quad) is expected to return from the injured list during the White Sox's weekend series against the Orioles, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Advice: Ramos began a rehab assignment Tuesday and went 1-for-2 in his only appearance to this point. He should return to a regular role at third base upon his activation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:27 pm

Twins optioned RHP Caleb Boushley to Triple-A St. Paul.

  • Daulton Varsho triples, scores twice vs. White Sox
Daulton Varsho went 1-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored, two RBI, and two walks against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: After drawing a walk in the first inning, Varsho brought two runs in to score on a triple in the second. After walking once again in the fourth, he crossed home plate on a base hit by Bo Bichette. The 27-year-old outfielder is slashing .212/.304/.444 with eight homers, 28 runs scored, 25 RBI, and five steals across 171 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:15 pm
  • Homers Wednesday
Meneses went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Meneses made things interesting in the ninth inning Wednesday, launching a solo shot off Jhoan Duran to lead off the frame. The 32-year-old Meneses had gotten off to a slow start this year, though he's now 6-for-17 with a pair of extra-base hits in his last three contests. Overall, he's slashing .234/.299/.299 with two homers, 24 RBI and nine runs scored through 43 games on the campaign. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:35 pm

  • Joey Meneses goes 2-for-4, homers in ninth
Joey Meneses went 2-for-4 and homered against the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer brought the Nationals to within one run against Jhoan Durán in the ninth. Meneses wound up 5-for-12 with a couple of extra-base hits in the series against the Twins. That probably doesn’t quite rate as a hot streak just yet, but his current .598 OPS puts him at his high mark since late April. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:36 pm

  • Exits starting nine Wednesday
Mateo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After playing the final three innings of Tuesday's suspended game earlier Wednesday and finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI double in Baltimore's 3-1 loss, Mateo will get a breather for the regularly scheduled game. Jordan Westburg will shift over from third base and man the keystone in place of Mateo, whose streak of seven consecutive starts comes to an end. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:33 am

  • Loses hold of regular role
Robles is out of the lineup for the Wednesday's game against the Twins, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Shortly after his return from the 10-day injured list May 7, Robles appeared to gain traction as an everyday player in the Washington outfield, as he started seven times in an eight-game stretch from May 10 through 18. However, with Joey Gallo coming off the IL this past weekend, Robles has been the odd man out of the lineup while Jesse Winker, Jacob Young and Eddie Rosario have settled in as the Nationals' primary outfielders from left to right. Robles, who has produced just two hits in 23 at-bats in the majors this season, is on the bench for a fourth straight game and looks like he'll be limited to fourth-outfielder duties for the foreseeable future. • Victor Robles sits for fourth straight game
Victor Robles is out of the Nationals lineup for a fourth consecutive game Wednesday.

Advice: Robles started nine out of 10 games before this stretch, but with Joey Gallo back, he’s been left out of the mix versus right-handers. Unfortunately for him, the Nationals won’t see another lefty until next week. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:14 am
