    • Getting breather
Springer is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Springer will get his first true day off since June 18, yielding to Addison Barger in right field. After a slow start to 2024, Springer has began to turn thing around as of late, going 14-for-30 with four home runs over his last nine games. Rotowire.com Today, 3:57 pm

    • Out of lineup versus lefty
Marsh is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Atlanta.

Advice: Marsh will begin this one on the bench as Atlanta sends left-hander Max Fried to the hill. The Phillies will go with right-handed batters both in left field (Cristian Pache) and center field (Johan Rojas). Rotowire.com Today, 1:09 pm

    • Gets another turn through rotation
Mercado is scheduled to start Sunday's game in Atlanta.

Advice: Mercado shined in his first MLB start this past Tuesday against the Cubs, picking up the win while striking out four and allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. Even if his performance takes a step back in Atlanta, Mercado should be well positioned to earn additional turns through the rotation, as Taijuan Walker (finger) is out through the All-Star break and Spencer Turnbull (lat) is unlikely to return from the injured list until sometime in August at the soonest. • On base three times Thursday
Chisholm went 1-for-4 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's extra-innings loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: He was also caught stealing, giving the center fielder 15 steals in 23 attempts on the season. Chisholm had drawn just one free pass over his prior 13 games, so his display of patience was unexpected and not likely to be repeated any time soon. On the year, 26-year-old is slashing .259/.326/.416 through 84 contests with 10 homers, 37 runs and 40 RBI, and most importantly Chisholm has stayed healthy after missing 167 games across the last two seasons. • Belts three-run homer
Steer went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk against the Yankees in an 8-4 victory Thursday.

Advice: Steer gave the Reds a 5-0 lead with his three-run blast to the short porch in right field in the fifth inning. The long ball was his 11th of the campaign, and he's just shy of the halfway point to reaching the 23 homers he hit last season. Steer also has 54 RBI, 41 runs and 13 stolen bases through 355 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • Lowe fills up stat sheet against Royals Thursday
Josh Lowe went 1-for-2 with a walk, a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Lowe’s stolen base was his sixth of the season. He drove in Isaac Paredes with an RBI double in the first inning and scored on Ben Rortvedt’s two-run single in the fifth inning. Jose Siri pinch hit for him later in the game with a left-handed pitcher on the mound. Lowe is hitting just .223 with a .709 OPS and 14 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:50 pm

    • Rafael Devers walks three times, drives in two
Rafael Devers drove in two runs while walking three times in a victory over the Marlins in extra-innings Thursday.

Advice: Hard to drive in runs without getting a hit, but Devers is capable of doing anything he set his mind to. He drove in both runs on fielder’s choices. All three of the walks were intentional, which is not something you see too often in 2024, or any year really. He’s now hitting .288/.375/.568 on the season with 51 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:50 pm

    • Spencer Steer socks three-run HR against Yankees
Spencer Steer hit a three-run homer while helping the Reds to an 8-4 win over the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Steer extended the Reds’ lead to 5-0 with a three-run blast off Marcus Stroman; the third homer Cincinnati hit against the right-hander. Steer has now gone deep 11 times with 54 RBI. The 26-year-old infielder’s .239/.332/.416 slash leaves a bit to be desired, but he’s starting to swing the bat better and should be a solid fantasy option over the second half of the 2024 campaign. • Taking seat Thursday
Cronenworth is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Rangers.

Advice: It's a routine day of rest after Cronenworth started each of the previous 12 games for the Padres. Tyler Wade will receive a start at second base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:06 am
