    • Jhoan Duran shuts door on Mariners for third save
Jhoan Duran struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: After a pair of eighth-inning appearances, Duran got back to closing duties against the Mariners on Wednesday. Up by three runs, he entered in the ninth to close it out and tossed a clean frame, striking out the final batter to end the game with his third save. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago

    • Suffers loss Wednesday
Lange (0-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit to take the loss in Wednesday's 5-4, 10-inning contest against the Guardians.

Advice: After recording the final out of the ninth inning, Lange had the unenviable task of pitching the bottom of the 10th with a runner starting on second base. The righty retired the first batter but then allowed a walk-off hit to Brayan Rocchio. There shouldn't be too much read into the loss, and Lange has pitched well all season, as he's sitting with a stellar 0.64 ERA across 14 innings. Lange should continue to see high-leverage work for the Tigers moving forward, and he could slide back into the closer role at some point if he keeps up the strong play. • Chris Paddack strikes out ten in win over Mariners
Chris Paddack allowed one run with ten strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: Paddack put together another solid start on Wednesday against the Mariners. He worked through three scoreless frames before Mitch Garver took him deep for a solo homer in the fourth. Paddack got out of trouble with two baserunners in the fifth, and got one out in the sixth before his day was done. He struck out ten batters for the second time this season, generating a whopping 19 whiffs. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 4.34 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and a 37/8 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings into a start against the Yankees in Minnesota on Tuesday. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • George Kirby surrenders four runs in loss to Twins
George Kirby allowed four runs with four strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: Kirby surrendered a pair of solo homers to Trevor Larnach and Carlos Correa in the first inning. Willi Castro got to Kirby in the second with a solo blast before driving in a fourth run with a triple in the fourth. Kirby tossed one more scoreless frame, ending his day after five at 70 pitches. The 26-year-old right-hander holds a 4.15 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a 45/5 K/BB ratio across 43 1/3 innings. He’s lined up for a start against the Royals in Seattle on Monday. • Steps in to close out game
McArthur picked up the save Wednesday against the Brewers after a perfect two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: The ball was handed to Tyler Duffey for the ninth, but after Duffey walked two batters and gave up a double to Brice Turang, McArthur was forced to step in and close the door. The save snapped McArthur out of a two-game slump in which he allowed five runs (four earned) and was charged with two blown saves and two losses. McArthur now has eight saves on the season, which is tied for the fourth most in the AL. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago
    • Takes another loss
Ross (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks across five innings against the Royals. He struck out two.

Advice: Each of the three hits Ross allowed went for extra bases, including back-to-back two-baggers by Maikel Garcia and Bobby Witt in the first inning -- both of whom scored via sacrifice fly. Ross has been handed a loss in four of his last five outings, owning a 5.88 ERA and a 19:8 K:BB across 26.0 innings during that stretch. He'll look to get back on track in a tentatively scheduled start Tuesday against Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

    • Kirby Yates holds on for seventh save against A’s
Kirby Yates allowed one run with one strikeout in the ninth inning to record a save against the Atheletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Up by five runs in the ninth, Owen White started the inning for the Rangers, but loaded the bases with no outs. Yates came on to clean it up, but gave up a sacrifice fly and a pair of hits to bring Oakland to within one run. He held on to escape the jam and end the game with his seventh save. • Jack Leiter hit for six runs in no-decision
Jack Leiter allowed six runs -- four earned -- with three strikeouts over four innings in a no-decision against the A’s on Wednesday.

Advice: Leiter’s second start of the season didn’t quite go much better than his first. After a clean first inning, Leiter gave up a two-run homer to Shea Langeliers to start the second. A throwing error in the third allowed a third run to score before Langeliers plated a fourth with a groundout. Tyler Soderstrom later took Leiter deep for a two-run homer in the fourth inning. The fourth inning would end it for Leiter, who’s give up 11 earned runs over his first two starts. It’s possible the 24-year-old right-hander will retreats back to Triple-A. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

    • Suffers first loss Wednesday
Wesneski (2-1) allowed three runs on seven hits across six innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Padres. He walked one and struck out three.

Advice: Wesneski pitched well enough, logging his second straight quality start in the process, but he got no run support in the 3-0 loss. The righty now has a strong 1.59 ERA overall, though it remains to be seen if he'll stick in the rotation moving forward. Justin Steele (hamstring) just returned from the injured list Monday, and Kyle Hendricks (back) could return in the near future, possibly as soon as May 17 following a rehab start over the weekend. For now, Wesneski is slated to start again Tuesday against Atlanta, but he may shift to a long-relief role after that. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago
