    • Converts first save
Thielbar allowed a hit and recorded one out to pick up a save over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Thielbar entered a 5-2 game with two outs and two runners on base. He gave up an RBI single to Zach Neto -- which was charged to Matt Bowman -- before closing out the contest. It was Thielbar's first save of the season. He now owns a 10.38 ERA with 4:2 K:BB through 4.1 frames. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
    • Knocks three hits
Neto went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and one RBI in Friday's loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Neto doubled and scored in the sixth inning and later added an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. After producing just two multi-hit efforts through his first 21 games, the second-year shortstop has collected multiple hits in three of his last four games. He still has plenty of work to do, but his season OPS has jumped from .449 to .646 during this recent hot streak. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Falls to 1-4
Sandoval (1-4) allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits over 5.2 innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against Minnesota.

Advice: Sandoval coughed up a solo homer to Carlos Santana in the second inning and the Twins continued to tack on runs throughout the night. Over his last four starts, Sandoval has gone 0-3 while yielding 14 earned runs over 19.2 innings. He generated 13 swinging strikes Friday, his second-highest total of the season. Sandoval will carry a 6.33 ERA into his next matchup, which is projected to be at home against the Phillies next week. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Patrick Bailey hits walk-off homer against Pirates
Patrick Bailey hit a walk-off three-run homer to give the Giants a 3-0 win Friday over the Pirates.

Advice: After being held scoreless for eight frames, Bailey was ready to go home with a three-run blast off David Bednar in the bottom of the ninth to give the Giants the win. The second-year backstop has swung the bat well thus far in 2024, as he’s up to three homers, a .297 average and an OPS of .880. Bailey faltered after a hot start in 2023, but the 24-year-old deserves attention — especially as a player doing this at catcher. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Quinn Priester holds Giants scoreless over six
Quinn Priester didn’t factor into the decision Friday against the Giants despite not allowing a run over six innings with six strikeouts.

Advice: Both Priester and Kyle Harrison battled zero-for-zero through the first six frames, so neither young hurler qualifies for a win. It’s still an impressive outing for both, and Priester was significantly better than his season debut against the Red Sox last Friday. Priester is still just 23, and there’s a reason he was considered one of the top pitching prospects not that long ago. He gets a friendly matchup next week against the Athletics. • Willi Castro doubles twice as Twins top Angels
Willi Castro doubled twice while going 3-for-4 in a victory Friday over the Angels.

Advice: Castro has doubled six times on the year with the pair of two-baggers. The 27-year-old also singled to improve his slash to .221/.307/.377. The versatility is nice, but not nice enough to suggest him as an addition to a fantasy roster. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago

    • Carlos Santana homers as Twins top Angels
Carlos Santana homered and drove in two runs in a 5-3 win for the Twins over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Santana opened the scoring with a solo homer off Patrick Sandoval in the second inning. The veteran picked up another RBI with a single in the sixth to extend Minnesota’s lead to 4-0. Santana was due for a game like this, as even with the pair of hits and homer, he’s slashing an anemic .165/.250/.266 over the first month of the season. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago

    • Caleb Thielbar gets one-out save against Angels
Caleb Thielbar got the final out Friday and was credited with a save against the Angels.

Advice: Thielbar was tasked with getting the final out after Matt Bowman was unable to get through the inning. Thielbar was able to get that final out, and it gives him a save despite throwing only seven pitches. It seems very unlikely that Thielbar will get many more save chances in the Minnesota bullpen. • Patrick Sandoval shaky over 5 2/3 in loss to Twins
Pablo Sandoval gave up four runs — three earned — over 5 2/3 innings in a loss Friday to the Twins.

Advice: Sandoval is going through it right now. The southpaw allowed nine hits in this outing, and the only positives are four strikeouts with zero walks. That makes 11 runs allowed over his last two starts, and he now is the owner of a 6.33 ERA. Sandoval will pitch better than this, but in large part because it can’t get much worse. The Phillies are not a team fantasy managers should consider streaming Sandoval against next week. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago
