      Bradish tossed five innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out nine batters in a no-decision against Washington on Wednesday.

      Advice: In his second start of the campaign, Bradish nudged his pitch count up a bit from 84 to 90 while completing five frames. The right-hander gave up just one run -- as he did in his first start of the season -- and racked up nine strikeouts but settled for a no-decision as both team's offenses were quiet until the latter portion of the contest. In terms of health, Bradish is still working his way back from the UCL sprain he was diagnosed with in mid-February, though he already appears to be in good form; through two starts, he's posted a 14:4 K:BB while giving up just two runs and eights hits across 9.2 innings.     • Jordan Hicks strikes out five in win vs. Rockies
      Jordan Hicks allowed three runs with five strikeouts over five innings in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

      Advice: After a clean first inning, a triple and a wild pitch brought the first run in to score for the Rockies in the second. Hicks ran into more trouble in the fifth, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk. His day was done after five frames on 92 pitches. He struck out five. The 27-year-old right-hander has enjoyed an early breakout as a starter, posting a 2.30 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 35/16 K/BB ratio across 43 innings.     • Kyle Bradish fans nine in tough-luck no-decision
      Kyle Bradish was outstanding in tough-luck no-decision against the Nationals on Wednesday night, racking up nine strikeouts over five stellar innings of one-run baseball.

      Advice: The right-hander allowed just four hits and two walks on the night. The only run the Nationals were able to muster against him came on an RBI single by Trey Lipscomb in the second inning. Bradish got 12 swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night — five of those on his slider — while registering a CSW of 34 percent. He left the game with a 2-1 lead and in line for a victory, but the Orioles’ bullpen was unable to hang on for him.       Snell (thigh) will throw a bullpen session Thursday and begin a rehab assignment at Single-A San Jose on Sunday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

      Advice: Snell began facing hitters Tuesday, and he has now been given the green light to test his injured thigh in a competitive setting. The left-hander may have his assignment moved to a higher-level affiliate after his rehab outing Sunday, though it is possible the Giants opt to return him to their rotation after just one start.       Blake Snell (adductor) is scheduled to make a minor league rehab start at Single-A San Jose on Sunday.

      Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw will first throw a bullpen session on Thursday, then if all goes well he’ll be cleared to take the mound in that rehab start. Snell has been shelved since April 24 due to a left adductor strain. It remains to be seen if he’ll require any additional rehab starts after Sunday’s tune-up, or if he’ll be ready to return to the Giants’ rotation if things go well there.       Michael Lorenzen was lit up for six runs over six innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Athletics.

      Advice: Lorenzen took the ball for the opening contest of Wednesday’s twin bill at Oakland Coliseum and turned in an absolute clunker. He was tagged for nine hits, including homers from Shea Langeliers and Brett Harris, before his calamitous outing came to a close. He finished with six strikeouts and only handed out a pair of free passes.       Iglesias struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his ninth save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: The right-hander topped out at 97.1 mph as he bounced back from a blown save in his last appearance Friday. Iglesias hasn't been as dominant as usual to begin the season, managing a 10:3 K:BB through 14.1 innings, but his 1.88 ERA and 0.98 WHIP have been stellar.     • Dominates Marlins over eight frames
      Yamamoto improved to 4-1 in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five over eight innings.

      Advice: Yamamoto gave up a first-pitch home run to Jazz Chisholm to open up the game and his only other blemish on the night came from another solo home run by Bryan De La Cruz in the sixth. He was incredibly efficient, needing 97 pitches to navigate through eight innings. It was his first time pitching past six innings as a major leaguer and he's now won four straight decisions since suffering a loss in his debut on March 21 versus the Padres in the Seoul Series. Removing the shaky outing in Korea, Yamamoto owns a 1.76 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 45:7 K:BB in 41 innings this season. He'll look to keep rolling next week in a projected road matchup against the Giants.       Lugo didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Milwaukee, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Lugo gave up a hit and a walk in the first frame, then surrendered back-to-back homers to start the second. After that, however, Lugo retired nine straight batters and kept the Brewers off the scoreboard until the seventh inning. He was seemingly set up for his sixth win of the season with the Royals up 5-3 heading into the ninth, but Willy Adames took Lugo out of contention for the W with a go-ahead three-run home run. Lugo has pitched at least six innings in seven of his eight starts, and he's gone into the seventh five times. He's scheduled to make his next start Sunday against the Angels.
