• Swipes two bags off bench
Hamilton entered Friday's game after Tyler O'Neill (knee) was removed and went 0-for-3 with two steals in a 7-2 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: After O'Neill's removal, the Red Sox made several adjustments, including Hamilton entering at shortstop and Ceddanne Rafaela moving to the outfield. Hamilton now has 11 steals for the season, second on the team. The Red Sox are dealing with several outfield injuries -- O'Neill, Wilyer Abreu (ankle) and Masataka Yoshida (thumb) -- and may not be able to get by with Rafaela at shortstop in the short term. In that event, Hamilton could be a regular at short. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

  • Swipes 33rd bag
De La Cruz went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: The 22-year-old also struck out twice, and his 31.7 percent strikeout rate on the season has caught up with him -- De La Cruz is slashing .205/.286/.318 since the beginning of May with only three homers in 34 games. He continues to do damage when he is able to get on base however, and De La Cruz's 33 steals on the season leads the league by a healthy margin, as the Brewers' Brice Turang sits in second place with 22. • Orelvis Martinez up to 15 round-trippers at Triple-A
Blue Jays INF prospect Orelvis Martinez belted his 15th homer of the season on Friday for Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Martinez leads the International League with 15 big flies this season and doesn’t appear to have too much left to prove in the minors, especially with Toronto’s lineup continuing to struggle. It feels like only a matter of time before he gets the call to attempt to inject some life into the Blue Jays’ lineup. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • IL stint not expected
Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (hamstring) is not expected to require a stint on the injured list, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Seager injured his hamstring Wednesday and sat out Friday's game after Thursday's off-day. Bochy doesn't anticipate an IL stint, but Seager might need a couple of days to get back to the field. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

  • Pops sixth homer
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Reds.

Advice: The shortstop took Nick Lodolo deep in the sixth inning, but the Cubs were already in a 3-0 hole at that point. Swanson is beginning to show faint signs of life at the plate -- while he's batting just .233 (7-for-30) over the last eight games, four of those hits have gone for extra bases, including two of his six homers on the year. His 1:10 BB:K over that stretch remains an eyesore however, and his .628 OPS and 28.5 percent strikeout rate on the season would both be career worsts. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago
  • Starts at third base
Duran started at third base and went 2-for-3 an RBI in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Duran entered the lineup with Corey Seager (hamstring) on the bench. Josh Smith, the primary fill-in for Josh Jung (wrist) at third base, moved to shortstop, paving the way for Duran to make his eighth start of the season at the hot corner. He's hit safely in four consecutive games and 11 of the last 13. Seager's injury is not considered serious, but he could need a couple more days, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. • Could deploy at 3B
Arizona manager Torey Lovullo is considering giving Alexander more looks at third base, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: With Geraldo Perdomo (knee) due back in the coming days, Lovullo is evaluating potential roster decisions to accommodate his return. Perdomo's pending return puts a focus on Alexander and Kevin Newman. Alexander, who made four appearances (two starts) at third base over the last 13 games, went 10-for-21 over a five-game hitting streak that ended Friday. At some point, the Diamondbacks may look for options to spell starting third baseman Eugenio Suarez, whose average dropped to .198 and is 2-for-23 over the last seven games. • Plays full game in field
Perdomo started at shortstop and went 0-for-4 for Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Advice: Perdomo played a third consecutive day for Reno and his first nine-inning game in the field. Including time spent in the Arizona Complex League, he's played six games and is 3-for-19. The Diamondbacks are considering roster options for Perdomo's pending return, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports. He'll slide back into his starting shortstop position, which puts the focus on Kevin Newman and Blaze Alexander. Rotowire.com Today, 5:19 am

  • Bo Bichette collects RBI in loss to Athletics
Bo Bichette went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Friday in the Blue Jays’ loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Bichette got Toronto on the scoreboard in the seventh inning with a run-scoring single off Athletics reliever Austin Adams following a leadoff double from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The 26-year-old shortstop has struggled this season to a lackluster .238 batting average to go along with just 19 runs scored, four homers, 26 RBI and four steals across 60 contests.
