    • Carroll returns to the lineup on Friday
      Corbin Carroll is back in the Diamondbacks lineup, batting second against the Tigers on Friday.

      Advice: Carroll came off the bench and pinch ran and scored a run on Wednesday. Fantasy managers have to be frustrated with Carroll’s production so far this season as he’s hitting just .193 with a .539 OPS.     • Starting to find some power
      Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Athletics.

      Advice: Diaz has hit well for average this season, but he has struggled to find much power as he has just a .119 ISO. He's started to show more pop of late, tallying three of his eight doubles on the campaign in his last nine games. Despite the lack of extra-base knocks, Diaz has managed 16 runs scored and 21 RBI across 42 games and comfortably remains Houston's top option behind the dish. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am

    • Gelof knocks in run Thursday
      Zack Gelof went 1-for-3 with an RBI against the Astros on Thursday.

      Advice: It was a quiet night for the Oakland offense. Gelof recorded his first hit and RBI in his third game since returning from the IL.       Yainer Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, 3 RBI and a run scored against the Athletics on Thursday.

      Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a bases-clearing double in the third inning off Joey Estes and the route was on from there. He hit 23 home runs in 104 games last year, but his power is noticeably down this year. His .119 ISO is well below his .256 ISO from last year. Diaz doesn’t walk often, but has cut his strikeout percentage to 13 percent so far this year. He’s not going to fall off a cliff if that keeps up, but he’s not exactly delivering on his lofty preseason draft price so far either. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:10 pm

    • Angels activate Luis Rengifo for Friday return
      Angels activated INF/OF Luis Rengifo from the 10-day injured list.

      Advice: The Angels tried to keep Rengifo on the active roster, but after he missed five games, they decided to put him on the injured list last Thursday. A week later, he’s returning to the fold and should likely remain an everyday player for the Angels given how banged up their lineup is.       The Angels activated Rengifo (illness) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

      Advice: Rengifo missed the last week and a half with a viral illness which resulted in painful blisters on his feet. He's recovered now, though, and should be back in the lineup when the Angels return to action Friday in Texas against the Rangers.       Bichette went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Orioles.

      Advice: His two-run double in the third inning looked like it would be just enough offense to get the Jays the win, until Jordan Romano blew the save in the ninth. Bichette is finally catching fire at the plate, hitting safely in six straight games and batting .435 (10-for-23) over that stretch with a double, a homer, a steal, three runs and four RBI.       Jones (back) began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday and went 0-for-3 with a strikeout and an RBI.

      Advice: Jones received three plate appearances and played five innings in left field in his first game action since he landed on the 10-day injured list in late April with a low-back strain. He shouldn't need too many rehab games before being activated since he hasn't been sidelined for an extended period, but the Rockies haven't provided a firm target date for his return to the big club.       Mike Tauchman went 2-for-5 with a home run against the Braves on Wednesday.

      Advice: Wednesday marked the third straight game Tauchman has led-off for the Cubs against a right-handed pitcher and he’s hit either first or second in every game against righties since April 23rd.
