    Advice: Diaz blew his first save of the season Sunday against Tampa Bay, but he went right back to work with the Mets holding a one-run ninth-inning lead a day later.     Manaea (2-1) earned the win over St. Louis on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one batter over six innings.

    Advice: Manaea didn't have his swing-and-miss stuff Monday -- he induced just four whiffs and recorded only one strikeout -- but that didn't stop him from keeping the Cardinals' bats mostly under control. The southpaw cruised through five scoreless frames before running out of gas in a three-run St. Louis sixth, but he was able to finish the inning to notch his first quality start since his first appearance of the campaign. Control issues have kept Manaea from going deep into contests this season, so it was promising to see him issue just one free pass -- his fewest of the campaign -- against the Cardinals.     Edwin Díaz hurled a perfect ninth inning on Monday against the Cardinals to collect his fifth save of the season.

    Advice: Díaz got the call to protect a narrow one-run margin in the final frame during Monday’s series opener at Busch Stadium and needed just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. He struck out Alec Burleson before coaxing ground outs from Brendan Donovan and Masyn Winn to end the contest. He’s converted five of his six save chances this season to go along with a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and sparkling 22/4 K/BB ratio across 14 2/3 innings (14 appearances) this season.     Advice: Manaea was cruising along in this one until his final frame when the Cardinals struck for three runs on a trio of hits and a walk. It was backstops Willson Contreras and Iván Herrera that delivered run-scoring hits in the frame and wound up forcing the veteran lefty to settle for a no-decision. He finished with just one strikeout and only handed out one free pass.     Robert Suarez recorded a five-out save on Monday against the Cubs.

    Advice: Suarez was tasked with protecting a three-run lead upon entering the eighth inning of Monday’s series opener at Wrigley Field for his first appearance since last Wednesday. The hard-throwing 33-year-old righty struck out Yan Gomes and retired Nico Hoerner to extinguish a bases-loaded threat in the eighth before coming back out to toss a perfect final frame. He’s converted all 11 of his save opportunities this season to go along with a microscopic 0.59 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 14/4 K/BB ratio across 15 1/3 innings (14 appearances).     Cole Ragans yielded two earned runs on two hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Monday.

    Advice: It was another stellar outing from Ragans, who now has allowed just four earned runs in his past three starts. The only damage against him came off a Gary Sanchez two-run home run. The 26-year-old southpaw has recorded at least eight punch outs in back-to-back games.     Suarez struck out three batters over 1.2 perfect frames and earned a save over the Cubs on Monday.

    Advice: Suarez was called into a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the eighth inning and quickly steamrolled the Cubs in order to finish off the game. He matched his longest outing of the year while firing 14 of 20 pitches for strikes. Suarez has been nearly perfect this season; he's 1-0 with a 0.59 ERA while converting each of his 11 save chances.   • Bryse Wilson throws six scoreless innings in no-decision
    Bryse Wilson didn’t allow a run and stuck out six batters in six innings of work against the Royals on Monday.

    Advice: Impressive. Prior to April 17, Wilson hadn’t made a start in the majors since September 2022. Since then, the 26-year-old has made four starts for Milwaukee and has allowed three total runs in those 20 innings. As a reliever? He’s allowed five earned runs across 10 innings this season. The move seems to be the right one for Milwaukee, however they’ll need to give him some run support if he’s to pick up some wins.     Thielbar struck out two batters in a scoreless inning and earned a save over the Mariners on Monday.

    Advice: Thielbar faced the heart of Seattle's lineup after Jhoan Duran pitched a perfect eighth inning. It was Thielbar's third save of the year and first since April 29. He lowered his ERA to 6.14 with a 9:3 K:BB through 7.1 innings. Duran should still see most of the save chances in Minnesota but the team may elect for more of a committee approach for now.
