      Advice: The speedy outfielder offered a spark off the bench after being tasked with running for Abraham Toro, swiping second base and subsequently coming home on Kyle McCann's single. The steal was only Ruiz's fourth in 16 games this season, but his second in the last three contests. The 25-year-old has also shown a welcome increase in pop early in the campaign, as he sports an impressive .861 OPS thanks in large part to having laced five of his nine hits for extra bases.       Advice: After going 0-for-8 in the first two games of the series, Rodriguez's bat woke up against Chris Sale. The 23-year-old outfielder has only had one sustained hot streak so far in 2024, but he's capable of sparking another one at any time.       Imanaga (5-0) tossed seven scoreless innings to earn the win in Wednesday's 1-0 victory over the Mets. He allowed three hits and a walk, while striking out seven.

      Advice: Imanaga continued the amazing start to his MLB career, as he now has a stellar 0.78 ERA across 34.2 innings to go along with 35 strikeouts. The lefty has allowed zero earned runs in four of his six appearances so far, and the most he's allowed in an outing was the two earned runs he gave up back on April 20. While it seems unlikely that Imanaga will be able to keep up this incredible pace, it does look like he's already cemented himself as a fantasy star this season.       Shota Imanaga tossed seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a win over the Mets on Wednesday.

      Advice: Imanaga continues his impressive debut in the majors, making his best start yet on Wednesday with seven shutout frames against the Mets. He worked around three hits and one walk, generating 15 whiffs to strike out seven. The 30-year-old left-hander lowers his ERA to a microscopic 0.78 with a 0.75 WHIP and a 35/4 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Padres in Chicago on Monday. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar has just one round-tripper through 31 games, but he’s managed to raise his batting average back up to the .270 mark, and has also chipped in seven steals as well.       Gelof (oblique) fielded grounders and played catch Wednesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Gelof was shut down for about a week after landing on the 10-day injured list last Thursday with a strained left oblique, but he's now been cleared to begin baseball activities. Hitting will be the biggest hurdle for him to clear, and it's uncertain when he might be ready to swing a bat.       Chourio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

      Advice: The rookie will bow out of the lineup for the series finale while Jake Bauers picks up a start in left field alongside Blake Perkins and Sal Frelick. After opening his big-league career by producing hits in 11 of his first 13 games, Chourio has fallen into a massive slump since mid-April.       Darvish (1-1) grabbed a win over the Reds on Tuesday, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits in the outing. He struck three and did not walk a batter.

      Advice: Darvish was finally able to pick up his first win of the season and help the Padres end a five-game losing streak. Tuesday was his first shutout effort since July 29 of last year. He was efficient, needing 70 pitches to get through five while inducing a bunch of weak contact. His strikeout numbers remain low in comparison to his career numbers, as he's now struck out three or fewer batters in three of his six starts so far. Still, Tuesday's outing was exactly what the Padres needed out of him, and he'll take a 3.45 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB into his next outing, which projects to be against the Cubs at the beginning of next week.
