The 27-year-old Skubal has now lost back-to-back starts for the first time this season -- he's given up eight earned runs over 10.1 innings in that span.       Advice: Greene locked horns with Pirates starter Mitch Keller in a throwback pitcher’s duel on Wednesday afternoon at PNC Park, limiting Pittsburgh’s lineup to just four baserunners (two hits and a pair of hit batters) into the seventh inning. The hard-throwing 24-year-old right-hander’s four-seam fastball velocity was up slightly in this one to 98.5 mph as he generated an impressive 17 swinging strikes, with 16 of those courtesy of his fastball/slider combo. It was a relief to see him avoid handing out any free passes in this one after issuing a season-high five walks in his previous outing.       Advice: Getting the start in center field and hitting cleanup, Varsho pilfered his third bag in the last 10 games and his eighth of the season in nine attempts. The 27-year-old sports a lopsided .216/.296/.446 slash line on the season with 11 homers, 35 RBI and 40 runs in 69 contests, but his .742 OPS still provides a significant improvement on the Blue Jays' other option in center field, Kevin Kiermaier (.545 OPS).
