    • Matt Carpenter drives in pair in win over Angels
Matt Carpenter went 1-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs Monday in a win over the Angels.

Advice: Carpenter has his first two RBI of the season. The 38-year-old plated both runs with a single in the seventh that tied the game at 4-4. Carpenter hit leadoff in this game, and while that makes him a little more intriguing than hitting near the bottom, it’s not enough to suggest him as a fantasy player in 2024. • Nolan Arenado hits solo shot in win over Angels
Nolan Arenado hit a solo homer Monday in a victory over the Angels.

Advice: The Cardinals trailed 4-0 entering the seventh inning. Arenado got St. Louis on the board with a solo shot in that frame. Nine more runs would score for the Cardinals. The Angels might not be very good. Arenado now has three homers and 21 RBI at the quarter mark. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • Kevin Pillar homers in loss to Angels on Monday
Kevin Pillar homered and drove in three runs in a 10-5 loss to the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Pillar took Matthew Liberatore deep for a two-run shot. The 35-year-old veteran has gone deep four times in 2024 in just 25 games, and three of them have come in eight games since joining the Halos. A fun “remember some guys” story, but Pillar certainly isn’t worth fantasy consideration at this stage of his career. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • Matthew Liberatore pulled in fourth vs. Angels
Matthew Liberatore was charged for four runs while working 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Angels.

Advice: Liberatore was given the chance to tart Monday against a not-so-good Los Angeles lineup, but he didn’t take advantage of the situation. The southpaw was able to get out of the first two innings unscathed, but he gave up a four-spot in the third while picking up just a single strikeout in the contest. Liberatore may start again, but his fantasy value is limited, particularly since he’s not fully stretched out. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • Jose Soriano blanks Cardinals into sixth inning
Jose Soriano blanked the Cardinals over 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts, but he didn’t factor in the decision Monday.

Advice: Soriano deserved better, as he allowed just two hits throughout the outing. He did issue three walks, but anytime there was traffic the 25-year-old was able to make a key pitch to get out of the jam. Soriano lowers his ERA to 3.72, and for the most part, he’s looked like a competent starter — albeit one who has limitations in fantasy because of his poor team behind him and a likely inning limit. • Ty France homers as Mariners outlast Royals
Ty France went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a victory over the Royals on Monday.

Advice: France turned a 4-2 cushion into a 6-2 lead with a two-run shot in the eighth inning. The infielder hasn’t hit for much power in 2024, but that does give him three homers and 13 RBI. France has been known to go on hot streaks, but fantasy managers just can’t bet on enough consistent production to add him to a lineup. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

    • Andrés Muñoz strikes out three in four-out save
Andrés Muñoz struck out three while going 1 1/3 scoreless innings Monday to get a save against the Royals.

Advice: The Mariners won this game by four runs, but because the right-hander came in with the score 4-2, he still gets credit for the save. That’s the sixth of the season for the 25-year-old, and he’s lowered his ERA to an aesthetically pleasing 1.62 in the process. Muñoz has been one of the best relievers in baseball for the first quarter of the season, and it should continue through the summer months. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
    • Luke Raley homers, plates three in win over Royals
Luke Raley homered, drove in three runs and stole a base Monday in a 6-2 win over the Royals.

Advice: Raley has been excellent in May, and this was easily his best game in a Mariner uniform. The outfielder scored a two-run homer off Brady Singer in the second inning, and he drove in another with an RBI single in the third. The outfielder also stole his second base of the season, and he’s athletic enough to project more if he can continue to get on base. At this point, it sure seems likely that Raley is going to see much more consistent playing time than he did to begin the year. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

    • George Kirby blanks Royals over seven in victory
George Kirby held the Royals to three hits with six strikeouts in seven shutout innings to help the Mariners to a win Monday by a 6-2 score.

Advice: After struggling for the majority of his start against the Twins, Kirby bounced back nicely. As is usually the case, he didn’t put on any runners via walk, and he pounded the strike zone with 68-of-101 pitches going for strikes. When Kirby doesn’t have his best stuff/command the results can be problematic. He usually does. Kirby will face the Orioles next. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
