    • A’s place Paul Blackburn on IL with a foot injury
Athletics placed Paul Blackburn (foot) on 10-day IL retroactive to May 11th.

Advice: Blackburn has a stress reaction in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot. The 30-year-old has a 4.11 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in eight starts while registering 36 strikeouts and 13 walks in 46 innings. There’s no set timeline yet for how long he’ll be out, but his right foot handles all his body weight during his leg lift on his windup, so he’ll need to make sure it’s fully healed before he returns to the mound. The team recalled LHP Easton Lucas from Triple-A Las Vegas to take Blackburn’s place on the active roster. Rotoworld Today, 12:13 pm

    • Lands on IL with foot injury
The Athletics placed Blackburn on the 15-day injured list Monday with a stress reaction of the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.

Advice: He'll be in a walking boot for at least two weeks, per Martin Gallegos of MLB.com, so Blackburn is set tio require more than a minimum-length stay on the IL. Blackburn had been in line to start Thursday in Houston but will now need to be replaced in the rotation, with recent Triple-A Las Vegas call-up Joey Estes making sense as an alternative. • Snaps slump with key homer
Torres went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 10-6 win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Torres came into the contest batting .156 through 10 games in May and failed to reach base in his first three plate appearances Sunday. However, he came up big in the eighth inning, smashing a three-run shot to increase the Yankees' lead to 9-5. The long ball was just his second of the season, which is a pretty significant drop-off after he went deep 25 times in 158 contests last year. Rotowire.com Today, 10:36 am
    • Struggling in May
Reynolds went 0-for-5 with a strikeout Sunday against the Cubs.

Advice: Reynolds has struggled in his last 10 games, collecting only seven hits across 38 at-bats with no home runs and no RBI. He remains locked in as the No. 2 hitter in the Pirates' lineup and has a .267 xBA and .361 xWOBA, so a turnaround in production should be in order. Rotowire.com Today, 7:53 am
    • Working through mechanical issues
Senga (shoulder) won't face hitters again until he works through some mechanical issues, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The right-hander threw 32 pitches in a live bullpen session last weekend, but he apparently wasn't satisfied with how it went. Senga will take a step back in his throwing program and go back to more controlled bullpen sessions without hitters involved until he's sure he won't be developing any bad habits as he progresses in his rehab from a shoulder strain. While the caution is smart in the long run, the hiccup will almost certainly ensure that Senga won't be ready to join the Mets rotation when he's first eligible to come off the 60-day injured list in late May. • Charged with blown save
Minter was charged with a blown save in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Mets after allowing two runs on two hits while managing to get just one out.

Advice: Minter was called upon to close things out in the ninth with Raisel Iglesias unavailable to pitch and failed to take advantage. Jeff McNeil reached on a bunt single before Brandon Nimmo ended things with a two-run walk off homer to center field. Minter has now suffered three blown saves this season and has coughed up runs in two of his last three outings. He owns a 3.78 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB in 16.2 innings. • Pete Alonso drives in two runs in win over Braves
Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday night as the Mets rallied to beat the Braves.

Advice: Alonso got the Mets on the board with a run-scoring single off of Bryce Elder in the third inning. He then plated their other run with an RBI double off of Elder in the sixth inning that tied the game at 2-2. The 29-year-old slugger’s bat has started to pick up a bit, but he’s still hitting a disappointing .223/.305/.453 with nine homers, 22 RBI and one stolen base on the season. • A.J. Minter suffers blown save on Sunday night
A.J. Minter suffered a blown save on Sunday night, serving up a walk-off two run homer to Brandon Nimmo in a loss to the Mets.

Advice: Minter — who was called upon with Raisel Iglesias unavailable — allowed Jeff McNeil to reach on a bunt single to start the inning. After a successful sacrifice by Tomas Nido, Nimmo clobbered the game-winning blast to spoil the Braves’ bid for a sweep. On the season, the 30-year-old southpaw holds a 3.78 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 20/4 K/BB ratio over 16 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:14 pm
    • Gleyber Torres homers in win over Rays
Gleyber Torres went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in a win over the Rays on Sunday.

Advice: Torres’ big fly was a 395-foot shot that left the bat at 103 mph for his second home run of the season. It’s been a rough season for Torres and was a rough week overall, going just 2-for-19 combined against the Astros and Rays. Perhaps the 27-year-old is trying to do too much in his contract season, but he’s been making more contact recently so it’s best to hold onto him in fantasy leagues because he’s too talented a hitter to keep performing at this level all season.
