    • Homers vs. Miami
Thomas went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer in Friday's 8-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Thomas provided the big blow in the Nationals' seven-run third inning with a homer off Shaun Anderson, his fifth long ball this season. The 28-year-old outfielder extended his hit streak to eight games -- he's gone 10-for-29 (.345) in that span. Overall, Thomas is slashing .231/.295/.359 with 21 RBI, 18 runs scored and 16 stolen bases through 40 games this year. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:01 pm

    • Lane Thomas mashes three-run homer
Lane Thomas went 2-for-5 on Friday with a home run, three RBI, and a run scored in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Thomas has once again been a dynamo this season in the heart of the Nationals’ order. The home run was his fifth in just 40 games - a 20 homer pace - to go along with 16 stolen bases. His .231 batting average and .295 on-base percentage are a bit of a drag, but are easy to stomach with those gaudy counting numbers. Rotoworld Friday, 6:10 pm

    • Belts first career walk-off homer
Martinez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double Thursday in a 3-2 win against the Marlins.

Advice: Martinez accounted for both of New York's extra-base hits in the victory, with his first knock being a seventh-inning double that contributed to the team's first run. The veteran slugger's second hit was more dramatic -- he took Miami closer Tanner Scott deep for a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was Martinez's 321st career long ball and the first walk-off home run of his 14-year career. He's gone deep six times through 168 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:32 am

    • J.D. Martinez hits walk-off blast against Marlins
J.D. Martinez slugged a game-winning two-run homer on Thursday, lifting the Mets to a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Martinez’s walk-off shot came against Marlins stopper Tanner Scott in the bottom of the ninth inning and was his sixth round-tripper of the year. It was also somehow his first career walk-off homer in 14 seasons in the big leagues since 2011. He’s now hitting .271 with 21 RBI in 41 games for the Mets this year. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:05 pm

    • Lane Thomas tossed for arguing balls and strikes
Lane Thomas was ejected from Thursday’s game in the sixth inning for arguing a called third strike.

Advice: Thomas was tossed by Emil Jimenez from a tie game for seemingly very little reason. Nick Senzel, who was supposed to get the day off, replaced him, with Ildemaro Vargas moving from third base to the outfield. Rotoworld Thursday, 11:43 am

    • Hitting bench Wednesday
Yoshida is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Yoshida returned from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and started at designated hitter in Boston's 4-1 loss, going 0-for-2 with a walk. Though he should serve as Boston's primary DH now that he's healthy again, Yoshida will give way to Tyler O'Neill on Wednesday. O'Neill missed the Red Sox's previous three games and is being eased back into the lineup in a non-defensive role, but he should eventually see regular starts in the corner outfield to keep the DH spot open for Yoshida. • Logs steal in loss
Steer went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Steer recorded his 12th steal in 65 games, putting him on pace to surpass the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Speed was not a hallmark to his game in the minors, but the running Reds have changed that. On an unrelated note, the team received news that first baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand is mulling season-ending wrist surgery. That means Steer, who has been the primary fill-in for Encarnacion-Strand in recent weeks, may continue on as Cincinnati's regular at first base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:54 am

    • Jordan Walker posts three hits, homers at Triple-A
Jordan Walker went 3-for-5 with a solo homer on Tuesday for Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Walker hasn’t hit for a ton of over-the-fence power as Tuesday’s round-tripper was just his second of the season, but he’s batting .273 (38-for-139) with 13 extra-base hits and three steals across 34 contests for Triple-A Memphis. There is no timetable for the 22-year-old top prospect to return to the majors, but he followed a similar trajectory last season when he excelled at the highest level following an early-season demotion. • Marcell Ozuna reaches three times in shutout loss
Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-3 with a walk on Tuesday in the Braves’ shutout loss at the hands of the Orioles.

Advice: Ozuna was the lone Braves batter with multiple hits on Tuesdya evening as journeyman Albert Suárez and a quartet of relievers combined on a five-hit shutout at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The 33-year-old slugger has been carrying Atlanta’s lineup all season with a .993 OPS with 18 homers and 55 RBI through 64 games. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:08 pm
