      Friedl (wrist) began a rehab assignment Thursday and is 1-for-7 with a walk over two games for Triple-A Louisville.

      Advice: Friedl, batting in his customary leadoff spot, played seven innings at shortstop Thursday and a full game Friday as the designated hitter.       Gelof (oblique) threw across the infield before Friday's game against the Marlins, the Associated Press reports.

      Advice: Gelof was cleared for baseball activities Wednesday, when he began fielding grounders and playing catch. His ability to do some more aggressive throwing Friday is certainly another encouraging benchmark, although it remains unclear when he'll be ready to pick up a bat again.       Iglesias blew the save Friday against the Dodgers. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.

      Advice: Iglesias entered the bottom of the tenth inning tasked with retiring the top of the Dodgers order to earn a save. He promptly retired Mookie Betts on two pitches before yielding a game-tying RBI single to Shohei Ohtani.       Ronald Acuña hit a solo homer while going 2-for-5 in an extra-inning loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

      Advice: Acuña Jr. hasn’t shown a ton of power in the early portion of the season, but he came through in a big way with a game-tying homer in the eighth off Daniel Hudson in the eighth. That’s just the second roundtripper of the season for the reigning MVP, but it’s hard to fathom the power isn’t going to come from a player that swatted 41 homers in 2023.       Contreras went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Contreras scored runs in the first and fifth innings, both coming via Nolan Arenado doubles. Since his last multi-hit game April 17, Contreras was stuck in a 9-for-43 (.209) slump in 12 games.       Weathers (2-3) took the loss Friday against the Athletics, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Despite yielding three runs, Weathers completed six innings to collect his second quality start of the season. Most importantly, the Miami lefty was able to control the free passes Friday night, allowing no walks for the first time since a June 15, 2023 start against Cleveland as member of the Padres.       Advice: Helsely retired the 2-3-4 hitters in the White Sox lineup with just eight pitches to secure the 3-0 win. Since blowing a save chance in his season debut, Helsley has converted 11 consecutive opportunities while allowing one earned run over 16 innings.       Ryan Weathers gave up three runs in six innings of work to pick up a loss Friday to the Athletics.

      Advice: The southpaw gave up five hits without issuing a walk, and he struck out five. Two of the runs came on a homer from Brent Rooker, and Weathers also allowed a run-scoring single in the fifth. Not a terrible start — by definition it’s a Quality one — but not terribly impressive, either. Weathers shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups for his start against the Dodgers on Wednesday.       Willson Contreras went 3-for-3 and scored two runs with a stolen base against the White Sox on Friday.
