    • Notches third save
Hader issued a walk over one scoreless frame Friday. He struck out two and earned a save over the Mariners.

Advice: Hader needed 22 pitches (13 strikes) to finish off the 5-3 win but still came away with his third save as an Astro. It was his first save since April 19 and he's converted three of his four opportunities so far. He's produced an impressive 23:7 K:BB despite an unsightly 5.93 ERA through 13.2 frames. Hader has punched out seven batters while not allowing an earned run over his last four innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:44 pm

    • Luis García Jr. hits three-run homer off bench
Luis García Jr. delivered a three-run homer as a pinch-hitter and later walked Friday as the Nationals came back to beat the Blue Jays 9-3.

Advice: García’s homer off Erik Swanson made it a 5-3 game in the eighth, and the Nationals kept piling on from there. García was on the bench against a lefty tonight, but it really seems like he should be a full-timer at this point. He’s batting .300/.344/.456, and it seems unlucky that he has just two homers on eight barrels. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm

    • Goes yard twice in loss
Baty went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 10-8 loss to the Rays.

Advice: The young third baseman took Aaron Civale deep for a three-run blast in the second inning to open the scoring, and he then connected for a solo shot off Jason Adam in the ninth. It was the first multi-homer performance of Baty's big-league career, and it snapped a 27-game drought for the 24-year-old -- his only other long ball in 2024 came back on March 30. Despite the power outage, Baty has taken a big step forward in his development this year, and through 30 contests he's slashing .271/.340/.385, a massive improvement on last season's .212/.275/.323 line. • Josh Hader locks down third save of season
Josh Hader fired a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts to pick up a save Friday against the Mariners.

Advice: Hader did walk a batter to put the tying run at the plate, but the left-hander was able to get a pair of strikeouts to lower his ERA to 5.93 and also pick up his third save. Hader should continue to see those save numbers rise while his ERA plummets over the summer months. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:05 pm

    • Big homer off bench Friday
Garcia went 1-for-1 with a walk, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 9-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The 23-year-old began the night on the bench with Yusei Kikuchi toeing the rubber for Toronto, but Garcia got the call to pinch hit for Trey Lipscomb in the seventh inning once the southpaw was out of the game. Garcia delivered, launching the first pitch he saw from Erik Swanson to straightaway center field to put the Nationals in the lead for good. The long ball was his second of the season, and the first pinch-hit blast of his career. Garcia is headed toward a breakout campaign, slashing .300/.344/.456 through 27 contests with five steals, six runs and 14 RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:58 pm

    • Jason Foley implodes in ninth inning on Friday
Jason Foley suffered a brutal blown save against the Yankees on Friday night, surrendering hits to all four batters that he faced.

Advice: Yikes. In what was a terrific pitcher’s duel that had the Tigers leading 1-0 heading to the ninth inning, Foley immediately got off on the wrong foot by allowing a leadoff single to Aaron Judge. Alex Verdugo then dropped down a bunt single with third baseman Zach McKinstry playing back, setting the stage for Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton then ripped an RBI double into right field on the second pitch he saw, and Anthony Rizzo followed with a run-scoring single to walk it off. Foley is probably still fine in the ninth inning, as he has converted nine of his first 10 save chances, though his 1.54 WHIP leads much to be desired. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • Reese Olson terrific in tough-luck no-decision
Reese Olson was terrific again in a tough-luck no-decision against the Yankees on Friday night, scattering two hits and two walks over five scoreless innings.

Advice: The right-hander punched out five batters on the night. While he was able to keep the Yankees’ offense completely at bay, the Tigers were only able to generate one run of support for him, which cost him his victory as Jason Foley imploded in the ninth inning. Olson generated seven whiffs on 88 pitches on the night — four of those on his slider — while registering a CSW of 31 percent. The 24-year-old hurler somehow sits at 0-4 on the season despite a stellar 2.70 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 31/13 K/BB ratio over 33 1/3 innings through his first six starts. He’ll attempt once again to get in the win column when he squares off against the Guardians in Cleveland on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • Seager drives in run, but Rangers routed by KC
Corey Seager went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Seager drove in the first — and only — run of the night with an RBI single off Brady Singer in the third. Seager has not gotten off to a strong start to the 2024 campaign, as the pair of knocks still has his average at a disappointing .229 with an equally disappointing .297 slugging percentage. • Brett Baty homers twice as Mets fall to Rays
Brett Baty went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and four RBI on Friday night as the Mets fell to the Rays in a slugfest at Tropicana Field.

Advice: Baty opened the scoring in the ballgame, crushing a two-out, 378-foot (109.2 mph EV) three-run shot off of Aaron Civale in the second inning. That lead would be short-lived though. Baty then added a 421-foot (107.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Jason Adam in the ninth that pulled the Mets to within two runs at 10-8, but that would be as close as they would get. With his three-hit attack, Baty is now hitting .271/.340/.385 with three homers and 13 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm
