      Advice: Cronenworth swatted one of three homers for the Padres on Friday, with his being a solo shot off Slade Cecconi. Cronenworth has shown solid power to begin the 2024 season, as he’s up to six homers, nine doubles and a .516 slugging percentage through 122 at-bats. It’s certainly understandable to be skeptical considering that the 30-year-old hasn’t slugged above .400 over the last two seasons, but the results are awfully promising right now.       Rafael Devers doubled twice, drove in Boston’s only two runs and walked Friday against the Twins.

      Advice: It was Kimbrel's first appearance in five days, as the veteran right-hander was dealing with back soreness. He certainly didn't show any signs of rust Friday, striking out the side to close out a shutout victory for his eighth save this season. Kimbrel had blown consecutive save chances before he was sidelined, allowing three runs in just a third of an inning.       Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder has had a brutal start to 2024 that includes what would be a career-high 29.1 percent strikeout rate and a career-low .455 OPS, but Arozarena came through with a solid performance in a wild win. His fourth-inning long ball off Dedniel Nunez was his fourth homer in 32 games to go along with four steals, and Arozarena has contributed a respectable 14 runs and 15 RBI despite his woeful .145/.242/.265 slash line.       Yusei Kikuchi limited the Nationals to one run in six innings and fanned seven in a no-decision Friday.

      Advice: Kikuchi left with a two-run lead and then watched the bullpen give up seven runs in two innings. This is probably the Jays’ ugliest loss yet, particularly since they were facing Patrick Corbin. Kikuchi is certainly doing his part thus far, amassing a 2.72 ERA and a 43/9 K/BB ratio in 39 2/3 innings.       Kikuchi came away with a no-decision in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Nationals, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out seven

      Advice: He carved up the Washington lineup en route to his fourth quality start of the season, generating 34 called or swinging strikes among his 100 pitches, and Kikuchi left the mound with Toronto ahead 3-1. Unfortunately, Erik Swanson immediately coughed up the lead in the seventh inning, denying Kikuchi his third win.
