    • Yandy Díaz clubs leadoff home run on Saturday
Yandy Díaz clubbed a leadoff home run on Saturday, helping to propel the Rays to victory over the Yankees.

Advice: Díaz jumped on the very first pitch that Nestor Cortes threw on Saturday, crushing a 401-foot (100.4 mph EV) solo shot over the wall in left-center. He also smacked an RBI double in the seventh inning and scored on a double off the bat of Randy Arozarena. Díaz finished the day 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored. On the season, he’s now slashing .250/.310/.340 with a pair of long balls and 18 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:28 pm

    • Anthony Volpe plates two runs in loss to Rays
Anthony Volpe went 3-for-4 and drove in both of the Yankees’ runs in Saturday’s loss to the Rays.

Advice: Volpe smacked a two-run single off of Zack Littell in the second inning that gave the Yankees a 2-1 advantage. That would wind up being the extent of their offensive output though. He also singled with two outs in the fifth inning and swiped second base, but the Yankees couldn’t cash him in. Volpe got his third knock off of Jason Adam in the seventh. With his three-hit attack, the 23-year-old shortstop is now hitting .268/.354/.408 with five homers, 20 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:27 pm
    • Injury believed to be minor
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Saturday that he's "not too concerned" about Nimmo's (intercostal) injury, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Nimmo tweaked his right intercostal on a checked swing Saturday against Atlanta and eventually exited the game. However, Mendoza said of the injury that "I think we caught it early," and there are no plans to send the outfielder for an MRI. Nimmo will be re-evaluated Sunday but is considered day-to-day for the time being. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:15 pm

    • Rafael Devers drives in go-ahead runs in eighth
Rafael Devers hit a two-run double to help the Red Sox to a 4-2 win over the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Devers turned a 2-2 game into a 4-2 lead for the Red Sox with a two-run double in the eighth. The 27-year-old third baseman also singled, and the pair of hits ups his line to .288/.403/.481 with 14 RBI. The power leaves a bit to be desired — if only because of lofty expectations — but Devers’ track-record suggests he’ll be among the best at his position again in 2024. Even if he maintained those numbers fantasy managers wouldn’t complain all that much. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:28 pm

    • Vladdy Jr. has four hits, three RBI, SB vs. Twins
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 4-for-5, drove in three runs and stole a base in a 10-8 win for the Blue Jays on Saturday over the Twins.

Advice: Vladdy Jr. did it all Saturday in the come-from-behind win. The first baseman has swung the bat much more effectively as of late, and his OPS has risen to .751 after hovering around .700 for much of the season. The 25-year-old has his first steal of the season, and it’ll probably be a while before we see the second one. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:20 pm
    • Exits with intercostal irritation
Nimmo left Saturday's game against Atlanta with right intercostal irritation, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Nimmo went 0-for-1 with a walk before exiting after the fourth inning. He suffered the injury on a checked swing and may undergo further tests after the game. Tyrone Taylor replaced Nimmo in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:36 pm

    • Brandon Nimmo dealing with intercostal irritation
The Mets announced that Brandon Nimmo was pulled from Saturday’s ballgame against the Braves due to right intercostal irritation.

Advice: Nimmo sustained the injury on an uncomfortable looking swing. While a lot will depend on how he wakes up feeling on Sunday, there’s a decent chance that he’ll be heading to the injured list. Be sure to check back on his status prior to Sunday’s game. • Jake Cronenworth sits against Dodgers on Saturday
Jake Cronenworth is not in the Padres’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s tilt against the Dodgers.

Advice: A night after Cronenworth saw his 12-game hitting streak snapped, he’ll get a breather with left-hander James Paxton toeing the slab for the Dodgers. Luis Arraez will cover for him at first base while Jurickson Profar moves up to the third spot in the Padres’ lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:26 pm
    • Brandon Nimmo leaves game with apparent injury
Brandon Nimmo was removed from Saturday’s contest against the Braves due to an apparent injury.

Advice: Nimmo appeared to tweak something in his side on a check swing, then had a couple of very awkward swings afterwards before leaving the game. He’ll likely head for further evaluation. Expect the Mets to provide an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm
