    • Gets shelled Tuesday
Mize (1-3) allowed six runs on nine hits across 1.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Royals. He had no walks and struck out two.

Advice: Not walking anyone was nice, though that's about where the positives ended for Mize, who allowed a new season high in earned runs while also recording his shortest outing of the year. His previous high was five runs allowed back on May 4, but he had allowed just three total runs across 12 innings in two starts since then. Overall, the righty now has a 4.57 ERA over 45.1 innings this season, which is only slightly above his career 4.35 mark. Mize will look for a better result in his next scheduled appearance, which is currently penciled in for Sunday against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:21 pm

    • Logan Webb let down by bullpen on Tuesday
Logan Webb allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Webb left the game with a 5-2 lead and watched as the Giants blew a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth before losing in extra innings. Webb went back to a change-up-heavy approach on Tuesday, registering just a 17 percent whiff rate but a 28 percent CSW. However, he also allowed an average exit velocity on contact of 96.7 mph and allowed 11 hard-hit baseballs. Lucky for him, just one of those went for extra bases and he was able to lower his ERA to 3.03 on the year. He has a solid start lined up against the Mets this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:14 pm

    • Mize allows six earned runs in loss to Royals
Casey Mize allowed six earned runs on nine hits over 1 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Royals.

Advice: Mize was off all night and saw his 3.50 ERA balloon to 4.57 as a result. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Mize was taken deep by Bobby Witt Jr. for a three-run homer in the second and was pulled for Tyler Horton after allowing three more hits to the next four batters he faced. It was the second time this season Mize has allowed five or more earned runs, while his 1 2/3 innings pitched marked his shortest outing of the season. He’ll look to get right in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:06 pm

    • Returning Wednesday
Dunning (shoulder) will be reinstated from the injured list to start Wednesday's game against the Phililes, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: A right rotator cuff strain forced Dunning onto the injured list in early May, and he will now return to the Rangers' rotation after just a few days more than a minimum-length stay. It's unclear if he will be under an innings restriction during his first start back, although he has only pitched past the fifth inning once in his last five outings anyway. The 29-year-old righty owns a 4.10 ERA and 1.15 WHIP alongside a 43:17 K:BB across 37.1 innings this year. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 6:59 pm
    • Dane Dunning starting Wednesday vs. Phillies
Dane Dunning (shoulder) will start on Wednesday against the Phillies.

Advice: Rangers manager Bruce Bochy confirmed late Tuesday that Dunning will be activated to take the ball in Philadelphia following a quick two-week absence due to a right shoulder strain. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:35 pm
    • Dustin May (elbow) throws first bullpen session
Dustin May (elbow) threw his first bullpen session on Tuesday since undergoing flexor tendon surgery last July.

Advice: May is aiming to return to Los Angeles at some point later this year as he works his way back from last year’s surgery, which also included a UCL revision on his right elbow. The 26-year-old righty was one of the most promising young pitchers in baseball a few years ago, but he’s been derailed by injuries. Rotoworld Tuesday, 3:08 pm

    • Returning from suspension Sunday
Blanco (suspension) will be added to Houston's active roster Sunday and will start in the club's series finale in Oakland that day, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Astros unsurprisingly won't waste any time reinserting Blanco into the rotation upon the completion of his 10-game ban. The right-hander threw live batting practice Monday and shouldn't face any significant limitations in his first start back. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:42 pm

    • Espada: Ronel Blanco likely back Sunday vs. A’s
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Ronel Blanco will likely start on Sunday against the Athletics.

Advice: Blanco is currently serving an automatic 10-game suspension for violating the league’s illegal foreign substance rules, but he’s in line for a tasty matchup in his return against the struggling Athletics. Fantasy managers should prepare to get him back in their lineups later this week. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:12 pm

    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) not ruling out June return
Gerrit Cole (elbow) faced hitters on Tuesday in a 22-pitch live batting practice session.

Advice: Cole told reporters afterwards that he came out of facing hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list back in spring training without any issues. The 33-year-old fantasy ace added that he wouldn’t rule out a potential return at some point next month. He’ll presumably face hitters a couple more times before heading out for a handful of minor league rehab starts to build up his pitch count and stamina. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:31 pm
