    • Beat up early in loss
Soriano took the loss against the Twins on Saturday, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks over 1.2 innings while striking out one.

Advice: Soriano struggled right out of the gate, allowing two walks and a hit in the opening frame while also hitting Ryan Jeffers with a pitch. Things only got worse in the second when the right-hander beaned the leadoff man and managed to retire only two of the next six batters he faced before being relieved by Jose Suarez. It marked the shortest outing for Soriano this season and his third time allowing at least three runs in the campaign. He's also issued three or more walks in three consecutive starts. • Picks up third win
Blanco (3-0) earned the win Saturday in Colorado after he gave up two runs on five hits and two walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The right-hander surrendered a two-run homer to Ryan McMahon in the opening frame but otherwise had no issues pitching at altitude. Blanco came up an out short of extending his streak of quality starts to five, but it was yet another strong performance. The 30-year-old has been a bright spot amid a horrible start to the season for Houston with a 1.65 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 30:14 K:BB across 32.2 innings. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
    • José Soriano hit hard Saturday in loss to Twins
José Soriano was torched for four runs over 1 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Twins.

Advice: Soriano was mercifully lifted in the second inning after allowing eight of the 12 batters he faced to reach base safely on three hits, three walks and a pair of hit batters. The latest calamitous abbreviated outing casts some doubt on his long-term viability as a starter since he’s completed five innings just twice in four starts since April 10. The strikeouts have been there, but he’s simply too risky to trust for fantasy purposes at the moment. He’s in line to face the Guardians on Friday at Progressive Field his next time out. • Surrenders six runs Saturday
Civale allowed six runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out three batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Civale made it through three scoreless frames before serving up an Andrew Benintendi three-run homer in the fourth. The right-hander returned for the fifth frame but gave up three straight hits for another run before departing with one out, and both runners he left on base later came around to score. Civale began the campaign with three quality starts among his first four appearances, but he's fallen off since then, yielding 11 runs across nine innings over his subsequent two starts. He'll try to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively lined up to be a home outing against the Mets next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:23 pm
    • Aaron Civale struggles over 4 1/3 against CWS
Aaron Civale was charged for six runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Civale was fortunate to not pick up a loss, as the no-decision has nothing to do with effective pitching. The right-hander was solid over the first three frames, but failed the second time through the lineup with three runs allowed in both the fourth and fifth frames. Civale has struggled in back-to-back outings, and his ERA for the month of April is a disappointing 5.06 despite pitching well to begin the month. He gets the Mets on Friday. • Ronel Blanco defeats Rockies to improve to 3-0
Ronel Blanco improved to 3-0 on the season on Saturday, limiting the Rockies to two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings in Mexico City.

Advice: The right-hander piled up eight strikeouts on the evening while walking a pair of opposing hitters. He served up a one-out, two-run homer to Ryan McMahon in the opening inning, then went on cruise control from that point forward. Blanco generated a whopping 21 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the ballgame — nine on his cutter and eight on his changeup — while posting a strong CSW of 28 percent. He has been a tremendous addition to the Astros’ rotation this season, compiling a 1.65 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 30/14 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings through his first five starts. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he does battle against the Mariners at home on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:17 pm
    • Casey Mize pitches decently in no-decision
Casey Mize pitched decently in a no-decision against the Royals on Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits over five innings of work.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander struck out a pair of batters on the night and didn’t issue a base on balls. The Royals scratched out two run in the opening inning on an RBI groundout off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino and a run-scoring single by Salvador Perez. They tacked on an unearned run in the second inning — and should have had more after some sloppy defense in the fourth inning, but Mize was able to pitch around any further damage. He generated seven whiffs on 87 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll carry a solid 3.08 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and an 18/6 K/BB ratio (26 1/3 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Yankees in New York. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:12 pm

    • Tyler Glasnow fans nine in win over Blue Jays
Tyler Glasnow allowed one run with nine strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Glasnow was outstanding against the Blue Jays. He had allowed just one hit and two walks before starting the seventh inning with a walk and double that put the first run on the board for Toronto. At 95 pitches, Glasnow was visited by manager Dave Roberts and a trainer before coming out of the game. The official word from the team was he was dealing with some cramping. It doesn’t seem like something that should keep him from making his next start, currently scheduled to come next weekend against the Braves in Los Angeles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:02 pm

    • Exits with cramps
Glasnow was removed from his start Saturday against the Blue Jays due to cramping in his right hand, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Advice: Glasnow didn't appear to be in significant pain when he was removed during the seventh inning of Saturday's contest, so his removal was likely precautionary. The Dodgers will monitor his situation, but it doesn't seem like the 30-year-old righty is at risk of missing his next start. Glasnow picked up his fifth win of the season Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over six-plus innings while striking out nine. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:39 pm
